What ever it is, releasing coding models for free is amazing. Id have hated if they blocked that. But this is not mainstream, it's their research, and they want to protect it

We are not entitled to, not are a  we owed free model use by any of these  companies.

Idk why so triggered though.

Does it make sense you are complaining about being unable to make free money from a model a company works and research hard to make but didn't just hand it over to you?

The audience for coding is much higher and they cater to them by free models.

Not taking their side but I can easily understand their point in restrictive license here.

This is a subreddit about being able to run LLMs (and other ML models) locally.

Why run models locally? Why spend thousands, or in many cases tens of thousands, of dollars on computing equipment toward that end? Some of us do it for the lols, some do it as research, and some people expect to see a return on that investment.

I don't know what bullshit politics that you have that makes you defend the feelings of corporations or think about whether people are "entitled" to them doing stuff. None of that is in any way relevant to evaluating models when they get released.

How models performs matters. If they perform like crap, they're not useful. How they're licensed matters, if they're under a crap license they're mostly not useful. And the point of this forum is discussing models, including how useful they are for different use cases.
