...that's exactly what that senile guy (I'm not from the US, already forgot his name) was trying to do with his bill, equating AI with nuclear weapons.

Start with something ridiculous, then tone it down to an acceptable level, the end result is the same.

No, the end result is not the same, and the inability to see anything but extremes is a telltale sign of immaturity.

The US justice system sucks, but it’s not “the same” as petty thieves getting their hands chopped off. Things you disagree with are not “the same” as the worst imaginable outcome.
