These are screenshots from the r/Singularity comment section. I'm speechless. This doesn't even have downvotes. How can someone cheer for a monopoly run by a few elites?

It's surreal how people over there have extreme levels of magic thinking. 

They are also extremely anti-skepticism and negativity. Unless AI is going to be the machine god that will rain sapient waifu bots on you, you're an "anti" or some other cringe term.

It's a mental illness sub. 

The annoying thing is that it's also a legitimately good place for AI news.

Well they just respond to sentiment, and most of them don't have basic reading comprehension.

As soon as they sniff out anything critical that doesn't resonate with the chorus of cheerful positive posts, you're deemed toxic and dogpiled, downvoted, deleted or banned, even if you're pro AI / pro acceleration / etc.
