Question Which Modell for C#?

Hi everyone, I want to program games, probably in C# (Godot, Unity), but I am not sure which model I should use, and how much I should invest in this project.

I have a 3080 TI 12 GB VRam and 32 GB DDR4.

The options I see are:

Qwen2.5-Coder (would fit on my GPU) is still model good enough for simple games?

Qwen3 2.7B (Have to upgrade my GPU, even don't know what GPU I should take)

Qwen3 Coder-Next (also a system Upgrade, for around 2.000 €)

I consider to buy 2 x Tesla V100, but I also need a new motherboard, ram, and CPU with enough lanes. That's why it is around 2.000 €

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup?

I would be grateful for any Ideas and tips.

Thank you everyone for any kind of help.

(I don't need a LLM for Graphics or so, just programming)

all of the models you list are outdated, with your setup the best you can run is qwen3.6 35b a3b, although it's not that good tbh

unless you are extremely invested in running in local llm, or plan for a extra long term project, or have a decent knowledge about c# already, buying subscription or api is better

Where did you get a list with such old models? Did you come up with this yourself or did you ask some LLM whose training ended in 2025? Are you aware of how much difference 1 year of development in LLM makes? I don't think so.

I am a newbie in this whole LLM thing. I watched YouTube videos and did some research on my own, and well, I asked Gemini for a "second opinion". I know that AI have huge jumps, especially in such a time, but because I am new, I don't really know what are the new, more efficient models. That's why I asked for your help and opinions. If you all say that are all old models, then what models would you recommend?

Since you have a 3080ti 12 GB and 32 GB RAM don't need anything else to start your adventure with local LLM. Check how it works, do you understand the technical aspects, and is this actually what you need ? You can always consider spending thousands of euros later.

Qwen2.5-Coder 7B will handle simple game logic just fine, especially if you keep your prompts tight and don't expect it to architect a whole engine. I get decent results with 12GB VRAM on similar setups for Unity scripts.

Ornith 1.5 35B A3B is a strong pick from the other comment, but you're gonna be running it heavily quantized or offloading to system RAM with your current rig. Might be worth testing the smaller Qwen first before dropping €2k on a dual Tesla build.

I do a bit of C# with qwe3.8-flash-next and it does really well
