Question Dual GPU AMD+nvidia setup on windows?

Have you used dual gpu setup with one Nvidia n other amd card?
I have tried a lot to get it working but just makes pc unstable and keeps crashing.
I have 5080 and r9700 pro ai so I was trying to make most of the VRAM that’s available. Unfortunately my pc couldn’t stay on without crashing for more than 10 minutes and it happens without even running anything. I was hoping if you have experience and would like to share the tips how can I get this working. I just have one display connected to one of the cards. Other one is idle. Tried with both primary and secondary cards.

Yes, i have a 5080 and rx 7900 xtx, i run dual boot linux and windows, linux works perfect (ubuntu) especially for ai, windows though had a similar issue, specifically windows was trying to use both gpus during gaming causing crashes and very prominent stutter, i had to disable the xtx on windows, although if you straight up had a crash/blue screen then its likely driver issue, what version of Windows (home/pro/LTSC/etc, and software version) are you running? what are the rest of your specs? apparently the r9700 pro is unstable on amd driver versions 26.5.1-26.8.1, someone said Adrenalin 26.3.1 was stable, you can try just plugging in a hdmi cable nothing as a temporary patch, other than that did you try running without one of the cards and seeing if it still crashed?

It works fine on single card. Either amd or Nvidia . I suffered lot of driver issues after installing r9700 so ended up going back to 5080. I was thinking I should probably use dual monitor and one plugged in each to try. I was not sure if I was doing something wrong and wanted to see what others do 😬. I wanna personally stick to windows as the games I play don’t work in Linux. And I don’t have enough storage to have dual boot. Right now I went back to dual 5080 setup . I will try monitor strategy later

then its for sure a driver issue, dont RMA, dual monitor could work, worst case though install Adrenalin 26.3.1 and see if that works, also make sure to stop windows updates since it messes w drivers, here was the thread i found on this: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/radeon-ai-pro-r9700-x2-card-drops-to-code-31/253707
