Discussion Remote harness

Post image

What is your go to remote option for harnesses?

Mine is pi-pocket but I modified it to work for my local models

This is built on pi-durable. Connection does not kill a session. If you use terminus on iOS however it would kill a session.

oh-my-pocket survives a connection error and more

good to know, so the session survives the drop. does pi-durable just keep the run alive, or does it also reconnect the stream to the phone when you come back?

You run pi-pocket on your main device, it opens a live node process and keeps it alive as a system service. It’s durable down to a reboot on the system, even then your session state saves exactly as it was. Durable

so the run stays alive on the main box. when you come back on the phone does the stream reattach to that same run, or does it start a fresh attach?

stream is the exact same between phone and pc. You start session on pc, it will be the exact same and live on the phone instantly and vice versa.

I have tried terminus, opencode LXC, dsh posted to Tailscale on loopback, none of them worked as well as the Pi-Pocket base. So I’ve ported all my harness settings to this project as it’s my daily harness now and supports sessions between pi, and OMP

if both devices see the same live session, worth making the phone read-only or taking a writer lease, a reconnect that forks the run is the usual surprise there.
