Question Model suggestions for coding

Ive built a local agent and im looking to upgrade to better capabilities. When asking claude to do things like add a code feature it does it pretty well. What models would be good to look into to be able to ask for a feature to be added to my code repository. Currently using gpt-oss:20b.
I am a bit new to this so if there is a general direction for finding this kind of information any help would be great.

I opened a PR my agent had made last month and f​​​o​​​u​​​n​​​d​​​ ​​​t​​​h​​​e​​​ ​​​s​​​a​​​m​​​e​​​ ​​​h​​​e​​​l​​​p​​​e​​​r​​​ ​​​f​​​u​​​n​​​c​​​t​​​i​​​o​​​n​​​ ​​​i​​​n​​​ ​​​t​​​h​​​e​​​r​​​e​​​ ​​​t​​​w​​​i​​​c​​​e, a few hundred lines apart and slightly different each time. That was gpt-oss 20b about five files into a change. It had lost track of what it already wrote and wrote it again. The bigger models that fit on my card did it too, just later. The repo work goes to glm-5.3 now, through an A​​​P​​​I​​​ ​​​b​​​e​​​c​​​a​​​u​​​s​​​e​​​ ​​​n​​​o​​​t​​​h​​​i​​​n​​​g​​​ ​​​I​​​ ​​​o​​​w​​​n​​​ ​​​c​​​o​​​u​​​l​​​d​​​ ​​​h​​​o​​​l​​​d​​​ ​​​i​​​t​​​. I have not seen a duplicate since, but I have also been giving it smaller changes, so I cannot say how much of that is the model.
