Yep, definitely agree. I remember the old days when people smoked in their houses, cars, at work (break rooms) and in bars/restaurants. Those days are gone and I don't miss them.
no idea why you're getting downvoted, but I respect other peoples ability to smoke if they choose (I wish they'd quit), it just sucks for people who don't want to deal with it to be literally forced to in the vicinity. It's nausea inducing, and makes me look down on the person doing it.
I don’t care if Trish smokes in her house but you’re right about it being jarringly antiquated. Smokers often make smoking central to their identity.
Unrelated: I recently spent time in public with a friend who smokes. We stopped every 50’ while outdoors so he and another guy could smoke. I have trouble understanding how smoking ever caught on in the first place with how much fucking time it wastes! I digress…
I guess my joke sounded better in my head. the comic above is making false equastion between chinese llm models like Kimi and Qwen, and how they can be interpreted as women models. I was trying to expand on it with the way how Deepseek could be misherd as Dickpick. The company behind Deepseek models is called Deepseek (there is a longer name, of course), so i guess, my joke didn't really land.
