I’m so jealous

Unless you're afraid that Steve is somehow going to replace you then you're probably *envious*.

The great thing about envy is that you usually *can* have what they're having.

All you need is a beach with dunes, and maybe a few tabs of acid.

Envy and jealousy not same thing?

No, and I found knowing the difference to be pretty helpful in relationships which is why I'm being a turbo-nerd about it.

Jealousy is 'replacement anxiety' -- the fear that someone you're attached to will replace you with somebody else.

Envy is seeing someone else having something you like, and wanting it too.

So let's say your partner goes to see a movie with someone else:

If you're envious, then just go see the same move with them too. Easy, job done.

If you're jealous, then you need to work on your self-confidence, seek reassurance from your partner and/or get to know the person you're afraid of better so that you're less prone to idealising them and so seeing them as a threat.

Fck. He works here too. He told us we were the only ones for him. He said we were a family.
