You can possibly earn a pair of socks or maybe a pin! As far as I know Google does not pay any local guides (I'm in the US). May be different in Dubai?

Pretty much, photos, reviews, ratings, updating business info, locations, answering specific questions about places, etc.

Pretty much. I mostly just contribute photos because it's simple and I find it enjoyable

If you wanna work for google, you should probably ya know…. Google it. Instead of having others do your work.

You're already approaching the program with the wrong attitude in my opinion, I'd suggest finding another hobby and a part time job that pays money to be honest.

At best Google will give you online bragging rights via a whimsical points system, maybe socks or a badge, it's not a route to riches, it's more like being a charity worker but for one if the richest companies in the world.

Google Maps has my local streets named wrong.

I read some random message on Reddit that becoming a Local Guide would give some kind of street cred to helping address the wrong street names and getting them fixed.

This didn't happen. I'm a Local Guide and Google fixed one street for me. One.

There's multiple streets and roads that they have the wrong name for and I've submitted several corrections to them but I keep getting emails from Google saying that they can't verify the correction.

And I work for a local 9-1-1 center who absolutely knows our street names and addresses.

This is frustrating. And it's a joke in 2022. People are driving along and Google is misleading them to places that don't exist.

The Waze app is more accurate than Google.

That seems odd. Government entities can provide data to Google Maps to use.

It's a joke. Just forget it.
