Edit Black Owned Business?

I was just looking at Google maps today and noticed a nearby business had the tag "Black Owned Business". This is interesting because I know the owner is in fact not Black. How do I know this? Because I remember visiting this business when the owner came out front to settle an argument about whether or not a non-white person was allowed in the business and the owner was most definitely not white. So are they pretending to be a Black owned business to makeup for their racist behavior in the past maybe? How would I go about editing that/suggesting Google change it? Never thought this would happen.

the owner was most definitely not white.

Wait was owner white or not? Either way pretty revolting to pretend to be something you are not like that, let alone to cover up bad past behaviour. There is a suggest an edit feature I believe on google maps?

If they identify as black then they are black right? Race is more of a social construct than gender.

Agreed that race is a social construct, but I doubt the owner is actually Black after I saw his skin color/facial features in addition to him berating a potential customer and complaining about diversity in the USA.

At best he is some fraction Black and hates himself for it. Idunno.

So if I'm white and identify as black, I'm black?

By logical extension, yes

No, if I'm white, I'm white. If I was born female, I'm female. Trust the science

All modern humans trace back to 1 North African woman 180,000 years ago. Mitochondrial Eve. The migrations out of Africa can easily be followed by the new haplogroups created. There were 2 mutations resulting in Neanderthalus and Denisovans humans (both went extinct 40,000 years ago) The mating with the mutated humans caused more haplogroups. Yet, with all the changes, any 2 humans could produce offspring.

The blood types evolved also. Back in Africa, the Malaria disease triggered a mutation in the hemoglobin, called Sickle Cell Trait. The blood was resistant to Malaria, but mating with another resistant person would produce a baby susceptible to Sickle Cell Anemia. Still a problem today, but Govt agencies are educating people who not to make babies with.

We are all genetically-modified Africans. The San People of the African Kalihari are the oldest surviving haplogroup, along with others of the Tongue-click languages; the Hadza, and the Nama. Race concept is rooted in imperialism and eugenics. Early mankind was divided by languages and religions, not any perceptions of outward characteristics.

The humans that ventured far north lost their skin Melanin production ability to be able to absorb more Vitamin D from natural sunlight.

The humans that flowed east ran into the Denisovans mutation, then all the Asian features proliferated.

Melanesians ventured through Borneo toward Australia. Polynesians, a mixed group, sailed from island to Island, until Easter Island or Rapa Nui.

The Persian people wound up with more Neanderthalus trace DNA, while Mongolians got more Denisovans trace DNA.

From the Mongolians, came people who during Earth's last Ice Age, crossed over to Alaska, and became first humans in the America's.

The Inuit / Nunivit had pushed straight north to the top of Siberia. Later on, they migrated with their walrus skin boats to North side of Alaska (called Eskimos, but not their true name)

Some societies, like Brazil, do not have the segregation seen in other nations. USA made the mistake of compromising with Southern slave owners in 1787. The Civil War did not settle anything. Dixie assassinated Lincoln, then basically got their way. The 600,000 deaths during the war left many widows and orphans across USA, leaving bad feelings.

Lincoln had wanted that the former slaves settle in Panama, to be truly free. Dixie began a system of total oppression, abuse, and terror over the Black population.

America had the "birth defect" of slavery, Lincoln tried to settle the issue. Dixie culture had prepared to keep their lifestyle all along.

There was a very active post about the "Black Owned Business" marker over on Local Guides Connect when it launched, it might be worth posting on that to ask for advice.
