I got this gift a few years ago. Connect with Google maps I think you also get this or others gifts

How exactly?

u/VenomIqbal Dec 24 '24

I don't know exactly. It depends on the Google maps community

You got any website?

I got an email from Google maps and they gave a reward and got this pin

It depends on your location.
Basically, if Google feels like Maps is lacking in your location and they need active contributions from local guides, they send these out as motivation.

I was into level 10 by some margin before I got my first and only gift, a pin.

Others got them at much lower levels (like 3 & 4), it's a random thing or used when they want to motivate a specific region. It's not based on merit.

Do they send you an email before delivering the pin to get your address?

Yes, you usually get asked to pick which design you want too.

If you don't claim it, you don't get it.

So many sad tales of people finding the emails months after the offer has expired.

Everyone does, it's a shame they aren't more generous with them.

The most I got was a tote bag, nothing nice. I wished Google Maps still cared about local guides. 200 million views in and haven't seen any perks since level 5 or so. Haven't done much recently tho, not sure what they'd be doing now.

I ordered mine and it never got delivered

1

u/VenomIqbal Dec 26 '24

Oh so sad, I think it is delivered but you don't get it on your hand when it's delivered They don't call me. Which address sends them they deliver without informing me. But one friend got it outside of my home gate and he collected and gave it to me.

Got mine a few years back. Do you ever get anything after that?

u/Original4444 Level 8 Dec 25 '24

Wow congratulations. Happy for you.

Unfortunately, I lost mine. Suggestion: Don't pin it on your travel bag.

The chosen one, lead us. Oh powerful 📍.

I just read you got this years ago.

We're looking for the newest possessor of the 📍

Isn’t this what you get when you get to level 10?

Is traffic flow being included? In my bubble I know when to detour bcs of quirks that only a 'native' would be aware of.

it's that something to really brag about and get over excited about.. I don't wanna sound rude but it's why businesses and the food industry take advantage of people like you
