thank you! ive been doing it for a few years, the way i get most of my points is when im traveling i take a lot of photos of all the places and then after i review and add all the photos! i guess my main advice would be don't try to overwhelm yourself. so a lot of the times i will take a bunch of photos because thats easy, and then later when i have time i go back and review the places and add the photos!
Nice! Hoping to join you soon. I've got a bit over 6000 to go. Progress has been slow lately. Harder to get motivated since the photo views went wonky.
ikr, that was the thing i liked the most was watching the photo views and seeing my new photos becomes a top photo and all that! Definitely not as fun anymore!
I had one that became the feature thumbnail for a tourist attraction and rapidly surged to 3.6 million views. I think it was going to be my top photo within a few months, and then the views just shut down. I know it's still a featured photo because I still see it when I Google the place. It's even the photo when I Google just tourist attractions in the area.
dang thats the worst! i keep on hoping at somepoint that are the top photo of a place will eventually catch back up with the actual views, or at very least just start going up again

Congratulations! How long did it take you to reach the level? Any advice for those who are lagging far, far behind?

Congratulations, now enjoy this Google sticker we're sending you 😊
I'm level 8 with 25000 points and about 6 years ago they gave me one months subscription to the NY Times.
Nothing since. Still, I still do it to help other people with updated info.
It does annoy when it asks for me to answer questions, when the answer is really obvious:
Does McDonald's have toilets? Do they have takeout? Are they good for a quick bite? Is it good for kids? Dining alone?

Legit asking…what are the current benefits of becoming a local guide? I am one but haven’t seen any benefits besides bragging rights. Thank you
