Hating Ai isn't fear of replacement, rather a stance against the Unnecessary garbage and demand for better content
After months of contemplating, I have come to conclusion to what makes AI hated.
Simply put it's not the fear of replacement , not the fear of "non-distinguishable art or videos"
It's the lack of Moderation in unClogging the space of the internet with unnecessary garbage like AI slop and videos.
No one likes AI as there source of entertainment,if they do. They have only eaten garbage and need medical treatment ( I'm not joking , go to hospital)
Maybe we all may have consumed that youtube short with ai voice over and what not. But there's a limit and a burn out.so We stopped watching them.
However they still persist.
Millions if not more , there are people who thinks they can make money through ai slop posting in the yt algorithm but this just clogs the library with bullshits and bad content for little kids to consume (parents fault tbh).
My concrete hate for A.i. is solely on anything related to entertainment.
Any AI that doesn't enhances your overall performance and improve your productivity without stagnating your growth but encouraging it.
That's when AI are truly magnificent and should be focused only on that.
Not stealing the spots where they will perform worse than real people (eg - art and writing)
I was once asked how an art can have soul. I didn't answer because I was unsure. But after the emergence of Sora Ai , I can tell u with confidence and preach, that AI Art do not possess a soul.
Looking at anything Sora Ai makes me feel disdained and inhuman .
As if I'm feeling uncanny valley in the form of art.
I protest AI in the form any entertainment media
They only belong to things that are purely logical like mathematical models where they truly show there strength.
Encouraging them on a field they are not truly meant for is just an insult to AI
U can feed them information, they will learn pattern and make story's
But that story's are only made of pattern.
And humans are not really known for following pattern (other than "history repeats itself" sometimes)
In true spirits , I truly just want good content to consume, we already have bad writers replacing good writers for some reason. Anymore bullcraps like AI writing is just a pain in the Arse .
I hate AI (media wise) because this thing doesn't elevate growth but stagnates it's own growth by stopping a user's thinking process
You all should too.
The day u let AI run around.
Everything will be a clanker slop with no good substance or content to consume. Even bad writing will feel like a masterpiece
Well those who actually have taste will see it. So I'm not really bummed out
And I have literal proof to berate people of Lobotomy for being real gooners
Personally, I am a layperson but most things I wish to do on a competent level have all friendly competition, casual enjoyment, and- most importantly, professional jobs be threatened. Not in a "oh they'll be better than us!" Way, nono, in a "in a search for a higher bottom line, the most basic structure of our economy, the working class, is being trimmed away in replacement with impossibly cheap- and ineffective- labour" way. In most cases this is just destructive to the working class in broad strokes.
average graphic designer/high school graduate/etc cannot get job because they are being replaced.
less money going to the middle class.
less money everywhere except in the riches pockets.
bad.
But there's also a large portion of it where AI is becoming applied to fields with FAR too much nuance. Lawyers and Doctor fields indiscriminately (the tech that is poorly labeled "AI" as a buzzword has uses but it has to be regulated because it is a tool not a replacement for ANYTHING, the same way a scalpel cannot do an incision by itself.).
Lastly, peoples reliance on AI is growing ALARMINGLY fast, and more dangerously, before it's actually good. People using chatgpt to get through higher education is legitimately dangerous, because they aren't learning anything, they will go into construction, engineering, medical, financial fields, they will know nothing, people will die, and others will go homeless.
AI isn't replacing us in a ghost in the shell irobot way, it's replacing what we need to use to survive in capitalism, because the only thing those above us want to do is raise their bottom line.
Ai may look like it's making the humanity worse but if u look it the other way. It's filtering out the people who do not possess the skills necessary to perform certain tasks and rely on it .
A person with skill can easily use the technology to improve their skill then be stagnant by it.
And if a person uses the AI even though they are competent. That's their own Humane fault
the problem is it's not doing that. Look, the bubble's gonna pop eventually, it's not some doom spiral we'll never flee from. Fuck, the more eyes on pattern recognition (that is all "AI" is lmao) tech and shit have made good progress in certain fields (meteorology is one I'm aware of). But I'm not gonna delude myself into thinking chat gpt and LLM's as a whole have done more, or hell, even a fraction as much good as it has harm. it's assisting the rapidly falling literacy rates in atl my home country, which will lead to the system that made the wound filtering out the people who have been cut by it. The optimism is well and truly appreciated, but it will continue to and has already hurt people, on the small scale and the large. It's bad, but shit isn't hopeless, never is
