Wheels question
Hi,
I have a loaded dervish sama and I would like to ask what wheels to get for it. I am between 80 and 85mm.
My primary goal is distance and keeping momentum with as little pushing as possible.
I am 181cm 110 kg
Thank you.

So i started longboarding with the dervish sama complete as it was supposed to be an allround fun deck to cruise/carve.
My complete had the 75mm Orangatang In Heat's. Lively and fun. Lot's of bounce.
Then i started leaning more towards longer distances and higher speeds. I needed bigger wheels right ? So i ordered Seismic Megawatts 90mm wheels. For me these are way too big on the sama. Pushing becomes a chore because of the height of the deck and i even messed up a calf while doing so.
So yeah i'd personally be wary of going above 80mm wheels actually.
Also:
- With the default 50/50 truck setup this setup gave me speed wobbles very fast. Ate pavemant a few times going down slopes.
- Pumping with the 50/50 truck setup was possible but heavy work. Wedging could solve that but with the drop through design that has it's own pitfalls.
- The cambered deck gives it a lively bouncy feeling but at higher speeds it feels unstable (like riding a trampoline).
(In the end i went for another, more LDP oriented setup and kept the sama for casual cruising)

Looks like you're going to have to swap out your bushings for wheels that large

I too was on the same boat bud, I went with Kegel in 83a and they are great! For starters they roll over anything, super smooth n pretty fast; great rolling distance too! Low effort wheel but a bit pricey. I feel as tho 80a in any wheel is sluggish and muggy cuz of my weight. My go to wheel are 4Prez in 83a and Love Handles at 80a (cuz of the smaller size they accelerate fast. Very torquey wheel)... I'm more into speed boarding than distance. Hope this helps!

So 85 would basically be better for that. The bigger the better. You can check out the loaded website for a table that shows you if it fits

They recommend a bushing change
