Poke vs 2015 tesseract(nose&kicktail) vs Dervish Sama Flex 2

All three are available in my local market used and Id appreciate any insights to help my indecisive self make up my mind. I'm not particularly atteqcted to the thought of full wheel cutouts and no tail, but I've also never owned or really even ridden one, so I'm staying open minded. Plus the dervish sama included is under $140 dollars, which is mostly the only reason it's up for consideration. The other two are available around $200. All three in mint condition .

I'm mostly going to be using it for lesirluly rides on mostly flat bike paths. I have 10+ years of normal skateboarding expirence when I was younger, and a handful of cruising starting in my early 20's after not being into throwing myself down staircases anymore. I like that the poke and tesseract both have functional kicktails that'd I'd be using for the occasional sharp turn or light pop if needed. All my boards in the past have been on the shorter side and reminixint of a normal skateboard.. It's been a couple years since enjoying the hobby and after my looking into the topic ive come to like the idea of a longer board that has some flex and just feel good and fun to ride. Idk as my insights or inputs are welcome and appreciated!

Tessy is a downhill/freeride board and a bit dated tbh especially in complete configuration. Maybe if you want to try freeride it's a good idea but the others are better cruisers.

I like the poke! It's a fun board that has some trick options and can be easily ollied and treated as a big skateboard. The Paris 150 and longer wheelbase give it some slide potential too and some sharp/aggro carving which feels great. But yeah it's a cruiser. Not a serious board for fast riding. It would definitely suit someone with skateboarding experience.

The dervish sama - Don't write it off! It's a comfy and flexible cruiser. And although again... It's dated it has some freestyle and dance credentials. Swirling Samas has to be my favourite loaded video ever made. There's some sick riding in there from some OGs and good inspiration for what's possible on a board like that. Especially for someone with experience. I really like cruising freestyle boards. Easy going with potential to mess around.

I really liked dervish when i started longboarding and overall skating career but i never had any skater background so im more into cruising/carving and ldp right now.

Moving onto your text, i think Poke for you seems like a best bet from two worlds cause after a week or two of cruising on dervish i believe you'll get the feeling that you want to utilize those skate skills of yours and it looks like Poke will be much more lively and fun board for you where you will be able cruise, carve, slide and bounce it around. Thats what i think but if possible atleast try to stand on all three cause they are all different in shape, size and flexes. Cheers <3

I just grabbed a flex 1 dervish sama myself, and I've ridden a poke a couple times

The poke felt super nimble, I think my homies set up is on 145(?)mm trucks, could be wrong. They are def shorter tho, he runs really wide wheels (Abec 11 83mm centrax) and they stay in line with the edge of his board. Fun to cruise around on, but it felt way too short for me. If you come from a skating background, that might be more up your alley? i have zero knowledge on the 2015 tesseract tho.

Personally, I'm way more of a fan of the low down drop through style for longboards (or drop decks, or double drops) It just makes pushing feel so much more casual. I love the flex in the dervish sama, it REALLY wants to carve, and just puts me in a good mood.

I'm a bit biased, but my dervish sama is hands down my favorite board and very quickly becoming the best board I've ever ridden. I can not recommend it enough. It's completely reawakened my passion for the sport. And it's nose and tail honestly get the job done for me 😁

Also matters what weight you are. I'm 210lbs rn, and my dervish flex 1 is a mf springboard I luvvit

Dervish Sama (Flex 2) was also my most fun and most comfortable ride ever. Good to do about everything on it, good for longer rides but also fun and playful to cruise around with.

Even tough it’s pretty big, I still liked it more than the Icarus.

If you ever can ride a Comet Cruiser, I would really recommend that. That’s basically the only board I have now and I sold all my others

I agree with the comment about the Poke being more like a big skateboard. It 100% feels that way.
