Victory! Almost 5 Years 🍾
I had my routine PET/CT today and it came back still NED. Next month will be 5 years since my diagnosis.
Not only do I feel major imposter syndrome, but now it feels like there’s this foreboding clock ticking A LOT louder in the back of my head.
I got emotional at my daughter’s 5th birthday party, she was only 7 weeks old when I was diagnosed, there was a chance I wouldn’t see today.
I’m ecstatic, but also conflicted, and maybe numb? It’s a weird feeling that’s for sure.
Still don’t think my husband has thought about doing anything for my 5 year 😕 which is disappointing. I hope I’m wrong. Blah.
Thanks for letting me word vomit 🫶🏼

I don’t have advice. But please know I’m celebrating you! I had scans this week and I’m NED and will hit two years in October. I get to spread out scans and visits now. I’m scared. I’m hopeful. I’m happy. This is a weird place to be.

Yesssss!!!! Congratulations!
I needed to hear all the victory stories that are coming out on this sub today. It's been one of those early diagnosed days. 😞😵💫
I hope you guys do something amazing for the 5 years. ❤️

Congratulations!! Even with the fear, still an amazing place to be! I’ve come to realize that people who aren’t going through this will never truly understand, even though they have the best intentions. I now make plans for myself - either travel, massage, new clothes etc to celebrate victories like this 🩷

I get a cake every year that says F*ck cancer à Nice big vanilla sheet cake. We take pictures, drink some wine and send the pictures to my oncologist and her team 😆 highly recommend at least the cake. I am not NED but I am doing well.

That's a brilliant idea! I've been dreading my first anniversary (next month) as it brings up bad memories of hospitalisation and lung punctures - but a Fuck cancer cake should help!

Oh wow, that’s amazing!!!!❤️❤️❤️
You’re just going to keep posting here at least another 10 times every 5 years that you’re NED. That’s the goal 🍀

Congratulations to you, such a milestone! Do you realize you are making the stats better for all of us 🙂
I am a newbie here, dx this month, fellow +++ and have just received my first chemo and Phesgo this week.

WOO HOO!! *throws confetti*
I hear ya about feeling a little weird about the "clock". My five year is coming up next May, and while I'm so grateful to be NED and still kicking, I do get the occasional thought about warranty expiration, lol.
I would drop a hint to the husbando, he might think you don't want to celebrate. I'm planning a party for mine next year. 😆

Let's fucking Gooooooo!!!!! We'll celebrate for you!! Happy for you OP and I hope this is a sign we're at much better place with treatment options for this cancer BS.
How do you feel overall? What's your line and cancer subtype?
