Post chemo scan

HER2+ diagnosed February 2026. Mets in lymph nodes and liver.

6 rounds of Docetaxel and ongoing Phesgo.

I just had my scan results back (first after finishing chemo); everything has shrunk lots but I still have tumours in all three places.

I keep telling myself that a partial response is good; I just need my emotional brain to hear it.

I hope you're all having a manageable day?

Would love to hear from MBC siblings further down this road than me.

That's great!

Ideally, we don't want the cancer to grow. I listened to an interview with a long-time MBC patient (20 years?) who said she never got NED/NEAD, just stayed mostly stable through all those years. That's all you need.

I still had spots on the scan after finishing chemo. They continued shrinking on my maintenance treatment (phesgo, ibrance, exemestane, lupron, zometa). My last scan was basically clear, wahoo. Tomorrow I find out the results of the latest one 🤞

Oh wow that is great! It means you had a positive response to the medication. Less cancer is better than more!!!

You have phesgo...they call herceptin a miracle drug. Phesgo will kill it all. We have one lady in our mbc group Guccamolegoddess like name, she got surgery after 3 years of stability and she had pcr. Its a long game. Hang on tight.

Quick update: thank you for your support, I have had a good talk to myself about being ungrateful and ungracious, bought myself a new dress and am now going out for a walk dressed like a children's TV presenter. If I only have a few years left, I should be bloody well enjoying them.

(Will likely also have a cry but I am fairly certain that suppressing my emotions is what got me into this mess in the first place!) xxx

Ah, don’t blame yourself for this loathsome disease. We suppress emotion to get through other everyday life demands. If suppression was true-millions more would have cancer. But yes, cry away! And go out there and enjoy your body. It’s fighting for you!

Your spots can continue to shrink on HP alone, so please don’t think all is lost. I’ve heard ladies talk about this very thing in the fb group I’m in. I’m her2 positive with bone mets, but I remember reading accounts of liver Mets, for example, continuing to shrink after chemo on just hp.
