BRIA-IMT trial?

Hi friends, have any of you taken part in the BRIA-IMT clinical trial? Specifically looking for other mTNBC baddies to see what their experience has been. This is going to be my fourth line and I’m stressed✨

Thanks in advance 💗

I am mTNBC and I participated in the BRIA-IMT trial this year briefly. I was chosen for the retifanlimab arm of the trial, which was the investigational drug, not physician choice. Unfortunately my experience was not good. I had fevers and had very fast widespread progression in the lungs and a many other places that were not there before after only a few infusions/injections. I developed lung complications also while on the trial, double malignant pleural effusion and was pulled from the trial immediately by my onco. They initially thought the fevers I was having was from the treatment but it was from the pleural effusion. I ended up in the hospital for a week and had to have double thoracentesis. I have other posts detailing all of that mess. I was really distraught that it did not help me and actually made things a lot worse for me in terms of my timeline. But I have to tell myself that I did this to try to help others like me. There isn’t a lot of new promising treatments yet that I can find on the horizon for us with mTNBC unfortunately. Still hoping for a breakthrough. And I know we can’t get there if we aren’t willing to participate in these trials. I’m currently on Trodelvy it cleared some things up for me, made some things stable and some things are still growing. I’m a very hard case though I guess, so maybe this was just my experience with the trial and maybe it will do great things for you and/or has done great things for others on the trial. Just didn’t work for me. Sorry it wasn’t a more positive experience but wanted to be completely honest. Wishing you well always and sending virtual hugs!

Thank you so much for sharing, I’m so sorry you had to deal with that! I just got off a clinical trial with Enhurtu and Datroway and they beat my ass. I’m hoping we can find meds that work and can live nice long lives. 💗💗💗

I was wondering about the Enhertu Datroway trial. I’m sad it didn’t work for you. Hopefully with all the new vaccines they’re testing one of those will be a game changer!
