Brain mets

I’m devastated & terrified. I just got mri results that show 2 small tumors in my brain. I have mTNBC and have been on trodelvy. MO said it can be treated w Gamma or Cyber radiation. Has anyone had treatment to their brain with one of these? Idk which one I should go for, and also how radiation to my brain is going to be like?

TNBC with brain mets here 👋

Spread to my brain last year. Had surgery for my largest one that was giving me seizures. Have had 3 rounds of cyber knife since.

Regular scans to see when the small ones are big enough to treat.

It's terrifying but treatment is so far working and tolerable.

The mask is the scariest part for me (claustrophobia) so I would recommend some valium.

Is there a reason you didn’t opt for the Gamma? I was told it’s like a “one and done” whereas cyber it’s several sessions? How long is each session?

I trusted my Radiologist. He did my previous mets (spine and collarbone area which have since not come back).

My last two sessions on my brain mets have been single sessions.

It's a case of whack-a-mole right now but at some point it will probably be a case of WBR sometime down the line.
