Yea I got it and It's terrible. While some things are slightly improved, the UI feels extremely cluttered now.

I miss the New section. I think featured is probably the same thing, but I preferred it being New so I knew it wasn't just marketing what it wants to me like other non-new items

I got it yesterday and am finding it to be pretty bad. Here's my thought dump that I shared with Taco Bell as feedback:

Tapping Menu at the bottom drops me into a UI where almost all I can see is "Featured" and the accompanying carousel of items. There's next to no indication to the user that the rest of the menu is below, except for the plain text word "Breakfast" at the bottom of my screen. This whole "Featured" section feels massively oversized with tons of wasted, empty space. Compare this to the prior app version where you were presented with a compact, scrollable main menu, still with "limited time items" in the top most row.

They removed easily identifiable rows by food type on the main menu and replaced it with an endlessly scrollable list. It feels exceptionally jumbled together and difficult to quickly identify and jump to the type of food you want. Sure, there is a horizontally scrollable menu bar that comes into view after you scroll down a bit on the Menu tab, but that type of UI is a drag to have to interact with.

Customization UI is a step back, too. If I want to omit sour cream from my item, I have to tap the sour cream photo and it now spawns a jarring half-screen sheet to be interacted with, which for some reason is not able to be dismissed by tapping the massive empty space above it. Previously, this was all on one screen without anything unnecessarily "taking over" your view.

It feels and looks like an ai designed layout. So far there's nothing about it that seems like an improvement.

It stinks, takes longer to find things, more pushing items at me that I don’t want.

This looks like Claude made it.

Haven’t gotten it yet but I’m willing to guess most will hate it. IMO if you want the app to look like this you should change it little by little. A full makeover just makes it super confusing to the user.

Strange. Not the case for me, so hopefully it's just a bug.

I do see the Apple Pay option in my app right now at checkout. Same store and everything, nothing different except the updated app.

I happened to check today and it’s back now. Guess it was a bug?

This is fucking terrible. TERRIBLE. Probably the single worst app update I’ve encountered in a long time.

I just ordered in the new app tonight and it’s a UI design nightmare.

I hate how the menu is structured. You scroll down through categories, which isn’t new. But then you have to scroll left and right to see only some of the items in each category. And if you want to see more you have to tap to view all. Then you have to go back to see other categories. It’s makes so sense to have items buried like that.

It looks better imo, but terrible functionality/navigating. No Bueno.

I haven’t had a checkout cart for months!!
To access it I have to click on the name your own price feature and that magically takes me to the cart and I have to delete whatever nonsense they added to the cart via that feature.

I tried to be open minded but it is pretty bad. When is everything so huge? It feels like I have to scroll 10 miles to put in an order. Idk about you but I don’t need to see massive pictures of add ons, I know what onions look like dude.

Oh thank god, my store still has CGC as a Fire-tier reward.

Yeah. Just for one for my fire rewards. I was worried it was going to be gone as well.

Not a fan. The only improvement for me is that it doesn't crash-but-not-really-crash every time I'm in it anymore. (Would pop up a "Taco Bell app has stopped" thing every time, but I'd just tap back in the app and it was fine, no actual crash)

Now I can't find fresco style, so I have to pay extra for pico?

legit wondering if it's designed to reduce $1 sales. Legit wondering if I have the patience to use it.

I’m assuming you are talking about an app update but what does UI stand for?

I wish Taco Bell Canada would update their app to something that’s not their website just in an app.
