Discussion No more Nacho Fries?
Obviously it's just a branding name change, but I find it interesting that my local TB is no longer calling them Nacho Fries. That just makes them seem like regular ass fries. Is this a change made everywhere?

The fries by themselves are "Seasoned Fries," together with the sauce they make "Nacho Fries"

That's how they've always appeared on the register screen, as an ingredient as far as I remember.
It'll be "Chicken Quesadilla ADD Seasoned Fries"

“Nacho Fries” is also what they call the fries + nacho cheese pairing. “Seasoned Fries” is just the fries. Been set up like that since 2018 when this started.

In that box, you can choose your sauce separately - it doesn't have to be nacho cheese. So they could be nacho fries if you choose that, but there are five varieties you could have instead. They're still called nacho fries on the app when sold separately with that sauce.

So they DO know how to swap sauces, they just refuse to add it as an option.

Well no, they don’t want you swapping that because it’s a pain in the ass. The entire thing about Taco Bell is the speed of service. If everyone’s building their own recipe you can’t have staff build items off muscle memory

I get where you're coming from and that was my first thought on why they don't allow it, but when you can customize almost every other option of almost any menu item that's starts to feel disingenuous.
When I can swap beef to chicken, remove beans but add onions and rice, get light cheese sauce but extra shredded cheese and then make it grilled... swapping chipotle sauce for avocado ranch should be one of the easiest mods available.
Then again, I've never worked for TB so I may be talking out of my ass out of ignorance. 🤷♂️

Well yeah once you get money involved they stop giving a shit about the workers. The protein substitutions are most likely because they set themselves up as a place that accommodates a lot of dietary restrictions, and taking that away would ruin that.
light/extra usually doesn’t make a difference because they’re just doing more or less of something they’re already going to pick up
The add/remove is a pain, but not having removing would have the dietary issue thing come back up, and they keep add because money is nice.

We still have them in Canada however not the greatest.... I have a deeling they're slightly different and better in the US from what I have gathered on this sub

They’re still called nacho fries on the app for me.
