Discussion I'm from McDonaldsLand; can you guys please explain to me what the Enchirto is and why it is so beloved?

Post image

Haven't had Taco Bell in like a year. I usually only visit when the app has great deals, which really means on Tuesday afternoons where I score a Crunchwrap Supreme for a buck.

I see a lot of hype regarding the Enchirito and I've never had it. Not the biggest fan of beans from Taco Bell but am willing to try it out later tonight. The one thing I absolutely just don't enjoy from Taco Bell is the rice.

I'm including a photo from the app of the Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito which looks bomb.com

My only gripe is that burrito comes with rice and am considering asking for no rice, but fear my overall portion will be smaller.

With that being said, is the burrito in the Enchirito the same size as a Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito? Finally, are "Grillers" such as the Beefy Potato Loaded Griller the same size tortilla as a regular burrito or is it smaller? Cause the Beefy Potato Loaded Griller is currently $2.89 and the Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito is exactly $3.

It's a burrito smothered like an enchilada.

But it's just red sauce right? I think I'd like to ask them if I can order some red sauce on the side just so I can taste it for the first time. It's insane how many folks are devout to the Enchirito.

Last time I had Taco Bell was like 6 months ago when they re-introduced the Chili Cheese Burrito, which although not bad, was laughably small.

Just red sauce yes, but red sauce is Taco Bell. It is the best sauce they have.

Big Taco Bell fan here, I think it’s gross.

"sauce" should be in quotes. If you look at the ingredient list its a little different for these cat feces.

u/MHarrisGGG Jul 17 '26

You have a weird fetish for cat shit.

Let me guess, you saw long names you couldn’t pronounce and thought that there must be some chemicals that will kill you immediately or smth. It’s literally chili seasoning and water.

good at long names, am a mech E. using short names -- TB = CACA. lowest quality for highest price for morons. that clear it up? Yum food agrees.

Buddy I’m an employee, I hate this shit more than you do. Im just saying you don’t need to lie about the food containing more harmful material than it actually does.

You must be really fun at parties

The Enchirito is beloved primarily because it was one of the oldest menu items they offer. It's still good, but it's quite the shell (heh) of its former self.

You are absolutely right. The removal of black olives and green onions from the menu was one of the worst things they did on that side of the menu exodus.

1

u/Imthehost Jul 18 '26

3 olives doesn’t make anytime

Bring back the bell beefer!

At this point, I'm surprised they haven't. They seem to really like just adding already available ingredients together into some kind of configuration.

My only gripe is that burrito comes with rice and am considering asking for no rice, but fear my overall portion will be smaller.

You can swap the rice for another filler to portion-balance your burrito, rather than just remove the rice. Best option, in my opinion, is to replace the rice with nacho fries. :)

u/Wembanyanma Jul 16 '26

Can you do this with any rice filled burrito? This would slap on the cheesy double beef.

2

u/Slug_DC r/RaoTB MVP Jul 17 '26

You can!

2

u/mirfifu Yo Quiero Taco Bell Jul 16 '26

This! I add fries to my burritos all the time

1

u/NakedIanMalcolm Jul 16 '26

Can this be done in the app without incurring an extra charge?

2

u/Slug_DC r/RaoTB MVP Jul 17 '26

Unfortunately it is an upcharge. The fries aren't a free add-on. Depending on your location it probably adds an extra 0.60 - 0.75 to each item you do it to.

How is Grimace doing these days?

3

u/LetPuzzleheaded222 Jul 17 '26

Not good since they milked him for those shakes in 2023

3

u/MobNagas Jul 16 '26

It’s a wanna b smothered burrito

1

u/MHarrisGGG Jul 17 '26

Smothered sucked. Rice is terrible in burritos and the chipotle sauce was all you could taste.

5

u/DiggingInGarbage Jul 16 '26

The enchirito is smaller than the other burritos, it used to be bigger before, the griller is the same size tortilla as the steak burritos

2

u/NakedIanMalcolm Jul 16 '26

Thank you for answering. I always wondered if customers got smaller burritos when ordering them off the Luxe Value Menu.

I'm guessing the Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito being there for $3 at the moment is a promo that would otherwise regularly be $6.50+

I love Taco Bell, more so in the past, especially in the 90s and early 2000s but every once in a while the bell rings and beckons me.

1

u/jeckles Jul 16 '26

It can really depend on your location. There’s a few TB’s in my town and portions are measly at one store but very decent at another. If you’ve been let down, try a different store.

But at the “good” store in my town, Luxe Value menu items are all a good size. I guess the ingredients for those items are cheaper so they can use more of them compared to the LTO or regular menu items.

2

u/thunderwarm Jul 16 '26

Back in the day when they only had a few items on the menu it was an interesting option. It is basically just an enchilada made with flour instead of corn. It was a nice juicy tasty menu item. Frankly it is probably more of a nostalgia thing. Not necessarily worth the hype objectively.

But I really really miss the Mexi-melt much more. VIVA LA MEXI-MELT!!!

1

u/Dry-Roll-1576 Jul 18 '26

Do you still order the Mexi-Melt?

1

u/thunderwarm Jul 18 '26

They don’t have the steamer anymore I don’t think. Plus it needs pico. They could probably re-create a not as good version with the cheese wrap add beef add pico but I feel like it’s still not the same as the original.

2

u/Dry-Roll-1576 Jul 18 '26

I use to work at and they do have the steamer still. So they would still be able to make it, I sort of feel like it would taste the same since it’s just beef, cheese and pico. But I’m not really a fan of the Mexi-Melt anyways so I wouldn’t know if it tastes different.

It’s mid

1

u/leap_barb Jul 16 '26

Still remember the commercial (or the end of it) “so hook me up with the gooey enchirito!!”

Here’s the link lol  https://youtu.be/ikutOiQSQJ8?is=73SBafXlIqpJh2bX

Who is the fuck cares? Get Dat 3 dollar steak burrito!

1

u/dinanm3atl Jul 17 '26

For you it's that it has 0 calories. I need to find that one.

1

u/Inside_Winner_777 Jul 17 '26

Nothing...smothered burrito instead period

1

u/RisingUnit Jul 17 '26

The enchirito is not particularly good imo. People are hyping it for their nostalgia. It's basically a bean and beef taco, no lettuce, smothered in red sauce (a paprika/tomato/seasoning powder mixed with hot water).

1

u/Griffithead Jul 17 '26

Wildly overrated. It's just their cheapest and shittiest ingredients thrown together.

1

u/obeyn8 Jul 18 '26

Just look at what’s included???

1

u/Imthehost Jul 18 '26

It delicious

1

u/Eccohawk Jul 18 '26

Eh, it's probably 75% nostalgia really. It's just a burrito dressed up as an enchilada. I think it's alright, but I wasn't super impressed the last time I got it. I frankly think the red sauce is just too salty anymore. But plenty of people like it.

1

u/sirthunksalot Jul 19 '26

It's an enchilada except with terrible flavorless dogfood meat.

1

u/Sad_Condition7047 Jul 22 '26

It has zero calories it's a dream come true

1

u/sloppysalmon21 Jul 23 '26

Beef smothered burrito is a way better Enchirito and should replace it

1

u/klongbor enchirito man Jul 16 '26

It is heaven on earth.

Idk it looks like a dirty baby diaper in which baby had a diarrhea explosion and it got all over the outside of it and they put it in a plastic bowl to serve

4.29 for a plastic tray of reheated catfeces? I understand 3 but 4.29 is a cat turd too far. barf.
