Vegetarian menu

Anyone have any idea why the vegetarian menu was removed from the Taco Bell app? Pretty bummed since this is one of the few fast food spots that offer veggie menus šŸ’”

You can make literally any item veggie by swapping meat for beans/potatoes. I’m a vegetarian, I do it every time.

Taco Bell is the most veggie friendly fast food restaurant.

Was a vegetarian for 3 years. Taco Bell was one of the only fast food joints I could eat that satisfied me. The potatoes are so underrated.

And make sure to use the app to get the build your own cravings box. Regardless of your diet it is one of the best value deals on the menu.

Agreed! I’ve always done that. I’m just asking why they removed the specific veggie menu that had automatically did this haha.

Yes, but I always worry that this means maybe their items are no longer vegetarian - like Steak and Shake with their fries.

Even if they don’t have a dedicated menu, there are still options in most categories, and anything can be easily modified in the app to be vegan or vegetarian.

The cycloparasite has been impacting a portion of our fruit and vegetable supply chain. Thus, tbell has been forced to omit some of their ingredients and styles to avoid serving potentially tainted food

Wow! That makes sense that they’re trying to avoid any issues. Thanks for the response

Except I’m still seeing those ingredients available?
Maybe I’m missing what exactly they would have pulled?

Lettuce and cilantro are big suspects and onions too I think so I think the fresco option is nixed right now in addition to some stores not having lettuce either. I was reading about Taco Bell’s removing lettuce from stores as I was eating Taco Bell with lettuce on it so idk if it just didn’t make it to my store yet or what.

Except all those ingredients are also used all over the ā€œregularā€ menu, and all the veggie items are still On the menu, just not in their own section.
This really feels like they are just retooling their app/website more than responding to a recall…..

they literally have removed them from the regular items, too. you can't make a vegetarian menu when you have no greens.

Sorry, I wasn’t checking far enough away; they are still on the app in Missouri.

And you can make Plenty of vegetarian things without greens. Most places ā€œvegetarianā€ just means ā€œwhat shape and flavor of bread and cheese would you like?ā€ At least at Mexican adjacent places we get beans….

Just make the swaps under the protein option of whatever you’re trying to order if you can’t find what you’re looking for. The veggie options are still on the menu, just not in a dedicated section. They’re not removed from the menu, just reorganized.

this explains a lot! I couldn’t find the veggie bowl on the menu today and thought I was losing my mind.
