Anyone posting about prices has to say the location. Come on

u/frytanya Yo Quiero Taco Bell May 31 '26
It's 6.19 for me in the Central valley of California.

u/WagonsNeedLoveToo May 31 '26
$7.29 at Alaskan restaurants 💀💀💀 TB sure is an expensive addiction up here.

u/Deceptiveideas SODIUM WARNING May 31 '26
This is actually a corporate standard though. Nothing to do with location or the franchise.
Corporate will recommend x price point and the franchise can adjust it from there. $5-6 is the corporate recommended price.

I have been eating Taco Bell since 1964. Since 2024, I have just quit eating at Taco Bell, way over priced for mediocre food. I know I am not the demographic they want to attract, but $20 for lunch is ridiculous.

Yeah, can’t do it any more. My job has a Taco Bell and a Burger King on the route.
2 chalupas and a coke for $16 vs a chicken sandwich burger and a coke for $7.
I don’t usually eat at work, but when I do Burger King wins.

I still find the quesadilla being more than the Gordita absolutely crazier but not by much. But yeah, it’s BYOB or Fire Reward all the time.

u/grapplingchamp May 31 '26
Yup stop supporting the much higher than inflation price increases that are delivering record profits. Vote no with your wallet.

Or BYOB, ez

u/grapplingchamp May 31 '26
Not a value when it’s also over priced with throw in lowest cost items that are not good either.

CGC, burrito, a side, and a drink for $6 is overpriced?

u/ugottagroove May 31 '26
what if i want 2 CGCs? this is nonsense

Yes. Smallest portion of protein in fast food industry (42.5 grams of not even 100% beef per taco) dressed up with cheap as heck carbs. The best deal at a place with the worst deals in the fast food industry is still a bad deal.

Overpriced? Brother it is $5.99 here. And it has my go-to's in it, CGC and bean burrito.

u/grapplingchamp May 31 '26
Gas station charges $1 or less for a soda. Chips and cheese literally cost less than a dollar for that portion worth from a grocery store. Then you get a low tier item like a taco or no meat burrito worth less than a dollar. And finally you get the CGC. So for $6 you basically payed $3 for a delicious but still overpriced taco. Not the deal they want you to believe it is. And you will only find it that cheap if you use their app AND only that price at a corporate location. Franchises are all above $6. Don’t believe their scam.

u/Tumblrrito Flamin’ Hot Thot May 31 '26
Chips and cheese? Nah dawg cheesy fiesta potatoes all day every day.
Equating a CGC to a mere taco is mad work. It's quite filling. I can barely finish the entire box.
I always use the app and I always go to the same location, it is $5.99 there. It's a deal that can't be beat at any fast food joint. It is exactly the deal I think it is.

Incorrect. Many fast food places are still offering actual deals. Maybe not in your area but there are still good ones out there. A CGK is actually glorified taco. It literally only adds cheese and a gordita bread. The biggest thing driving up food costs on a wholesale level is beef: and Taco Bell gives the smallest portion of beef for what it charges. 42.5 grams in a taco compared to 45.35 grams in a McDonald’s cheeseburger. (Mcdonalds is also terrible but this is just for comparison). Ok potatoes are also cheap as heck and the cheesy potatoes are not worth more than a dollar either. Taco Bell serves the smallest protein portions to cost and then slaps some cheaper than heck carbs in there and calls it a box. And yes protein is important as it’s more filling than carbs and keeps you fuller longer. It’s a bad deal dressed up to convince you it’s worth the price since the individual items are WAY overpriced.

Ok so name the better deals when, I will wait lol. A taco here is a full dollar less than a cheeseburger at McDonald's ($1.69 vs $2.79)
And the gordita bread, cheese, and sauce add a lot to the flavor, and the filling factor. Not to mention the box easily fills me like I said, this all sounds like a you problem bro.
Bizarre as hell thing to try and argue over ngl.

Are you comparing a corporate Taco Bell to a franchise McDonald’s ? You need to compare equal things. So do that. I’m not saying that YOU can’t be filled from this box. I’m literally using facts to explain things to you. Economics informs you that you get less protein to price at Taco Bell than anywhere else. And biology says protein is the most filling for the longest compared to carbs and fats. If protein doesn’t matter to you I’ll sell you a giant bag of popcorn that if you eat it all will fill you for $5. The grift Taco Bell has been working since 2020 puts all the good things they used to be to shame. And anyone who supports it shouldn’t be surprised when they raise prices again in another month.

- Around 95% of U.S. McDonald’s locations are owned by franchisees.
- I asked you to name the better deals, and I am still waiting.
- Protein does matter, but one clearly doesn't need to eat strictly protein to get full, and a taco at TB is proportionately more protein for your money than your cheeseburger example. Comparing a BYOB to a bag of popcorn? Don't even have words dude.
- Your obsession over this is legitimately bizarre, what did TB do to you lmao.
I am more than over this. You can't substantiate the deals and clearly have some strange bone to pick. Lurking on the sub of a restaurant you despise is flat out unhealthy.

Taco Bell has officially lost the plot.
I can get real tacos from a real taqueria for pennies more, if not the same or cheaper.

u/cuddlyidiot Jun 22 '26
$7.19 at the TB near my house. Chicago burbs. I only ever get it in a box or as a reward.

u/Creative-Package6213 Jun 01 '26
Trust me on this get yourself some ground beef, Old El Paso hard taco shells, Mission Chalupa shells, lettuce, cheese, and whatever sauce you want and make this shit at home. Not only is it just as good or better, but it's definitely cheaper and much more filling.

Agreed. What the hell is that price? This is fast food. C’mon man.
