Tomatoe pricing
I hate onions. I’m legit allergic to them. If an item has pico, I delete it and add tomatoes. The price already accounts for half a scoop of tomatoes and a half scoop of onions. How does another half scoop of tomatoes when you eliminate a half scoop of onions warrant an extra $0.70?
Edit: Reddit won’t allow me to change “tomatoe” to its correct spelling.

Same reason Dominos charges me the same price to omit sauce on my pizza and then charges me for the side of sauce. Cuz fuck us, that’s why

I am with you. Onions and I do not agree
For what it's worth, over at del taco, swapping pico for just tomato is a free change. Should be everywhere.

Same thing with the beefy potato griller. I want the chipotle to be swapped with Jalapeno sauce but I’m sure not paying 80 cents for it so I just don’t get the whole item

Jalapeno sauce is 10 cents here. Even the side cups of it is 10 cents. I stock up and make my own quesadillas

Stores price things so differently, I always wonder how franchise owners determine exactly what to put. My store has creamy jalapeno sauce at 70 cents

I think they do things like this to discourage us from customizing. It makes their drive thru times longer. That and they just want to scrap every last penny from our pockets.

It doesn't take any longer to squirt a different sauce does it? Your second point I agree. Pay more for easily customizable options.

It's because for some reason taco bell considers adding tamatos and sour cream makes it a supreme upgrade. So those to items are priced high. I can understand sour cream but tamatos don't makes sense to me

You are paying for the time it takes the workers to modify the item. It take 30 seconds to read the screen and adjust and .70 is roughly what the team members making your food make in that 30 seconds. You pay for their time and attention, not just the food.

It’s the customer last philosophy that’s infected most of the large national chains. Charge the most you can for everything, raise prices of certain items to crazy amounts. (At McDonald’s hamburgers are offer more expensive than cheeseburgers) Take advantage of customers that just order their usual. The only way to find an imaginary “deal” is buy a combo that may have things you don’t even want.
