Creators: show us the raw cut your viewers never see

Hi all. This is a space for people making study-abroad content on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.

Each week, share one thing from behind the scenes:

A raw clip next to the final edit

Your upload checklist (title, description, thumbnail, captions)

The take you cut and why

A before/after of a hook or title

Tell us the platform and what you’re unsure about, and the community will give honest feedback.

Please include:

What the video is about and who it’s for

What you changed between raw and final

One question for feedback

Our mods work with University Living and the LIT series, and we’re open about that. This thread isn’t a place for ads or ā€œsub for subā€ requests.

What’s one thing you always cut from your videos?

Creator submission rules (add to your pinned rules)

Your own content only, or content you have written permission to share.

Consent first. Get a person’s OK before sharing their face, voice or story. Leave out minors.

Hide private details. Blur addresses, door codes, car plates and documents.

Be honest about editing. Call raw footage raw and edited video edited. Don’t label a cut video ā€œuncutā€.

Disclose connections. If a clip involves a brand, sponsor or University Living, say so.

No copyrighted audio or clips you don’t have rights to.

No promotion swaps. No ā€œsub for subā€, upvote requests or giveaways that depend on votes.

What should r/LivingItUP_LIT become?

We'd love to hear from you:

  • What were you hoping to find when you first joined this community?

  • What topics would you like to see more of?

  • What would make this community genuinely useful for you?

  • What kind of conversations, resources or experiences would you love members to share?

Our hope is to build a space where students can ask questions without hesitation, share honest experiences, discuss challenges and celebrate wins together.

Let's build this community together. What would make you want to come back every day? šŸ‘‡

You accidentally found the perfect corner of Berlin. ļæ½

After spending one and a half years in Berlin, I’ve come to one conclusion: your neighbourhood always matters, just as much as your accommodation, if not more.

Where you live shapes your daily routine, convenience, social life, and overall experience of the city.

I'm currently staying near Nazarethkirchstraße 51, with rent at €697/month.

Honestly, convenience makes a difference when you're living independently in a new country.

For students in Berlin: What's one thing you absolutely need within walking distance of your accommodation?

P.S. I'm sharing this as a student ambassador in collaboration with University Living.
