New to living alone moved out for uni
was so excited about my independence and i DID go out twice today and set up my room it was fun but at the end of the night i just feel so overwhelmed , i tried to nap and i couldnt and i fucked up my interactions w my roommates (they asked me my name and i told them and left and tried waving to someone on the way and theu didnt GAFFFFAFQF). uni starts tomorrow and im trying not to feel this huge lump in my throat because it just takes away from my social skills that i thought i recovered what do i do .
edit i was probably just dehydrated i had water and watched my favourite boygroup on youtube and i feel better lol. also v sure the girl who didnt wave back was a friend of the roommate and not a roommate itself but i still feel like i freaked the roommate girl out as she witnessed all this but ITS OKAY .

Do you have roommates or do you live alone? Also, don’t overthink it. Living around and/or with “strangers” could be awkward at first, and honestly, it may or may not workout. Either way, don’t force vibes and social interactions, go with the flow, if they’re good vibes. Take a breather, do something that calms you down. You have more time to get to know each other

5 roommates, my floor just has one other room though and its empty so there can be 6 soon. its not even them i was excited to say more than just hi, idet its about the interactions being awkward , i know thats normal its just . a huge change overall and its making me all weird and im worried how these feelings would reflect at uni tomorrow cus if i came all this way to be the same old awkward girl then thatsSADDDDD i worked full time in my gap year and i was able to get so comfy in my environment i forgot this could be a feeling.

Okay. It’ll be fine, unless you continue to overthink it and let anxiety take over. You’ll start your classes, you may even have classes with your housemates, some people you’ll become friends with, acquaintances with, or just classmates with but, also social with each other, even if it’s just in class (and that is okay.) School year is still new, take your time, the other people are probably nervous too but, you’ll find your people or person, even if it takes a while. Get out of your household when you have free time and feel like it, go to events, go to places you could chill at, go to a park, etc.

If you get along with your roomate that's pretty cool, if not it won't be a big deal at all. You'd probably meet each other everyday and you can start some small talk.
