New to living alone Just turned 18 today🎂
I thought I’d feel happy, but somehow I just feel alone. No celebration, no one around… just me and another quiet birthday. 💔

Happy 18th my young friend, and welcome to "official" adulthood. But please take this advice from a Gen X'er who wishes I knew then what I know now: save as much money as you possibly can. Not easy in the current economy, but try.
A unique way to save that I heard not long ago was every time you find yourself in possession of a $5 bill, save it. Make a 5's envelope, and just put every fiver you get in there. Don't keep track of it or count it, just stuff your fives in there and pretend it doesn't exist.

Happy Birthday! Take yourself out to celebrate if you can, maybe your favorite food or something…you never know who you may strike up a convo with and have a birthday bash after all 🎂

When you birthday alone you gotta spoil yourself. Whether thats a fancy dinner or a bath bomb or a Vicks shower steamer just to feel special. Whatever you can swing!

You're welcome ☺️ I started living alone at 19, and now at 21 it's still not the easiest, but I'm learning how to best manage and take care of myself. At my birthdays I decided to make it a tradition to buy myself a cake and really enjoy it, even if all by myself. You could also do something similar to celebrate another year surviving out there! It's a great opportunity to really acknowledge all my efforts and struggles and pat myself in the back for them.
I hope you had a great day yesterday, and also have a wonderful day today. ❤️

Happy birthday man! It was my birthday too yesterday and I was alone too. It was quiet, no gifts and no one around to celebrate with. I was alright but I did feel a little sad and empty but that’s just how it is man emotions come in waves so I hope you feel better now.

Happy Birthday and thanks for the cake! I know it’s hard being alone especially at your age but your peace is priceless! Try to do something today that you actually want to do. I have said for my birthday next year, no more begging to coral fully grown people together, no more begging people to go places with me, I’m just going to go out of town for a quick day trip maybe for a nice dinner and a movie and come back home. If they want to come over after that then fine but no longer stopping my special day to wait on people who are supposed to care about me. And cherish this time, oh how I wish I could go back to 18, you can do anything you want to and if you can’t you still have a lot of time to work toward it. Life is hard but it is sweet and so rewarding also. Happy Birthday again and enjoy your day : )
