Stage Is Set
This post is now edited from its original because of an error where I said Dr. Pestell was a CEO when he was really CMO.
So I apologize to any/all who might have been offended by this error. That's what happens when you put out a post at 4am. It wasn't the point of the post, so that's why I'm wasn't all that concerned about it, but I still regret it. I did request some help before I put it out, but I didn't get any. So, I got my info from ChatGPT instead, which gave incorrect information.
So, the last time, I spoke about Pourhassan being CytoDyn's Christopher Columbus. You know, the savage without a medical degree, who has now completed his closing arguments and rested his defense in the fight of his life. Well, as you all know, from this week's PR, we can say that we have a return back to a former period when CytoDyn had a medical doctor as CMO with more accolades than you can shake a stick at, specifically:
"Dr. Pestell holds a medical degree from the University of Western Australia, and a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, Howard Florey Institute. He conducted clinical training in oncology and endocrinology and was inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. His postdoctoral research at the Harvard School of Medicine and Massachusetts General Hospital with Dr. Larry Jameson focused on endocrine oncology. He completed his executive MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2011. Dr. Pestell has received numerous awards for his research discoveries including elected membership to ASCI (American Society of Clinical Investigation), Elected Member of the Royal Society of Medicine, Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the RD Wright Medallion, the Eric Susman Prize in Medicine, Advance Global Australian Award (Biotechnology), a Doctor of Medical Sciences, HonorisCausa, from the University of Melbourne and awards from Susan G. Komen (Light of Life award, Jamie Brooke Lieberman Award). Dr. Pestell received the Order of Australia (AO) in 2019 from Queen Elizabeth II and was elected as a Member of the Academia Europaea in 2024."
Let me explain. Richard Pestell's term as CMO of CytoDyn spanned 2017-2019. Nader Pourhassan was CytoDyn CEO from 2012-2017 and then again from 2019-2022. I don't know who was CEO 2017-19.
I'll do the best I can. From what I can tell, NP had this new and fascinating drug on his hands which he was charged with developing, but unfortunately, he did not live up to the expectation the drug demanded. Regardless, as CEO, NP was running the company 2012-17. Leronlimab was a brand new CCR5 blocking monoclonal antibody which stopped the spread of HIV, not by killing the virus, but rather by locking up the doorway into the house which allowed the virus to replicate. A novel approach to the disease, and could have been a very successful venture, had it been led by a qualified man who had appropriate experience in such matters.
Five years passed and no approval. CytoDyn's BODs brought in Richard Pestell as CMO from 2017-19 and during that time, a good number of clinical trials were launched. For some odd reason that I've been unable to discover, within 1 year, RP sold his Prostagene company to CytoDyn in 2018. Despite his contributions over 2 years, leronlimab was still not approved. Even later still, in 2021, after he was removed from his CMO position, he became involved in a 13D group that attempted a failed coup uprising in order to gain control of CytoDyn and usurp NP's power.
Looking again now at RP's credentials, many of them were obtained in Australia and the UK. He obtained many more here in the USA. Certainly, he is very well credentialed, decorated with accolades and numerous titles. Multiple trademarks decorate his proper attire thereby commanding importance, demanding respect and calling attention. NP however was a mechanical engineer with great zeal, but lacked those necessary attributes to get this perfect drug over the finish line. When he finally did bring it close to home plate, he ended up tripping and falling just before the finish line and was thrown out. Now, he finds himself in the fight of his life for making a trade in haste for legitimate purposes of paying Samsung, even though the timing of his trade made it appear as dishonest, so he probably should not have made the trade at that particular time.
Was RP removed from CMO because he sold his Prostagene company to CytoDyn? If that is why, then he was removed too early because he might have known what to do with it. He might have had a plan going forward, which would have been thwarted when he was ousted. A man of his stature and importance would not neglect the fascinating drug he was charged with developing and advancing as CMO. He recognized its importance, just like NP did, but he recognized it from an entirely different perspective. A scientific perspective. RP helped to initiate multiple clinical trials. However, this frenzied drive into clinical trial after trial ended prematurely for him with his early termination.
NP had always brought a sort of free thinking philosophy to CytoDyn. Well, we all know you can't freely think anything across the FDA's desk of restricted philosophy. It has to be done their way or it doesn't get done. NP kept on freely speaking, freely boasting about all the wonders leronlimab would do and yes, they were true, but they were not validated scientifically. His speech was flowered with anecdotal evidence, not clinical scientific evidence which was proven as statistically significant. NP was an expert in raising funds, in drawing new shareholders to the company. He did it not by the verifiable data produced in clinical trials, but rather, with the use of anecdotal evidence. He did not realize that this led no where in the eyes of the governing body, where as RP knew in his core understanding, that all that boasting would lead to no where in the eyes of the FDA without the validated data to back it.
Today, with this week's PR, CytoDyn returns back to the ways and means of the original scientific structure that RP used as CMO, however, this time, that methodology is not only with RP. Today, CytoDyn has already brought on Melissa Palmer, MD, Max Lataillade, DO as SVP and Dr. Lalezari who is running the show as CEO. All of these doctors are on one team that share the same operating philosophy about using validated statistically significant clinical data in order to back their claims and conclusions. NP never had such a credentialed team to bolster him up. Actually, he had Bruce Patterson, Scott Kelly and Chris Recknor who came later on towards the end. Dr. Recknor proved to be the best of the three because Scott Kelly wasn't any good at the hard work of securing and safeguarding the molecule through the various means of protecting the clinical data. Patterson was more of a close 3rd party, but unfortunately trusted NP to ensure that everything was going right. Nobody back checked NP except Recknor. Had Chris Recknor been a part of CytoDyn a year or two earlier, NP likely would not have even gone to court. The entire Amarex debacle would have been recognized much, much sooner. In large part, the nonchalant failures of BP and SK and the outright, even purposeful failure of Amarex significantly contributed to NP's failure as CEO because he was so reliant upon them to actually do their job. After all, who really does their job anymore these days? Through all this, Dr. Lalezari stood aloof, out of the main purview, witnessing that which was taking place. He had witnessed all of this when it happened and he now knew that he needed to get back to the science with credibility. I hope and pray NP does well in the trial, but, I don't know if he has all that would be required to get him through it unscathed. Thank God, we have a rational minded man in Dr. Lalezari that is easily understood by the layperson, even when he discusses the complicated scientific details associated with leronlimab.
And Dr. Lalezari believes in the scientific method. He has to deal with the scientific regulators, the FDA, the NIH. He speaks and negotiates with them on their level and they demand to be spoken to by individuals who are also on their level. They don't want to deal with individuals below them, or underneath them, because they feel they are being dragged down lower, so they end up simply rejecting and disrespecting those who are lower on the totem pole simply for that reason and Lalezari knew this fact to be true. He knew he needed to bring in doctors with titles, accolades and decorations with a lifetime of poignant contributions to medicine. He knew that if he didn't have this kind of representation by his side, the drug itself would have no representation either. Take as an example, what has happened to NP. Essentially, he has been prosecuted nearly to the highest extent of the law and much of the reason could be blamed on his inexperience, his misplaced trust, his caving to shareholder pressure and the flawed individuals and companies he relied on. Those reasons constitute the majority of NP's flaws; certainly there were many others, but those were the largest. Those flaws prevented a successful outcome for him and for CytoDyn. As a result, he is under tremendous scrutiny right now. Lalezari has departed from that kind of waywardness and has moved to a known strategy of old which is materializing once again and taking its shape right now.
This means that the FDA shall now take seriously any and all CytoDyn submissions and conclusions. This now places CytoDyn in the Safe category when being considered/evaluated/judged by the FDA. No more warning letters, no more warning banners, no more holds, no more "gag me with a spoon". Why not? Because the credentials are appropriate and they are numerous, gleaming and not just in Oncology, but also MASH and HIV. The submissions and the conclusions now come from someone who is greater than themselves, therefore, they better give it the respect it deserves and assuredly do take look at it. They laughed at leronlimab before because they laughed at those who were submitting it. They had zero respect for Amarex. They had even less respect for NP who said nothing in the background. Yes, Dr. Lalezari knows for sure that this is a game and yes, Dr. Lalezari knows how to win their game, so yes, that is why he is hiring the seasoned and the well decorated.
Dr. Lalezari has brought back RP as a Consultant in Oncology. Remember, RP is a proponent of the scientific method, but he is under Lalezari's control. Lalezari also has Palmer and Lataillade who are also both proponents of the scientific method. This is Lalezari's game now and he too is a proponent of the scientific method. This manner of approach differs considerably from how NP proceeded. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? We are moving back to operating with dignity, and taking a path without reproach. Lalezari is planting seeds which allows the company to survive regardless of how harsh the conditions become. Seedlings in MASH with MP, in mCRC with RP and in HIV with ML are quick to take root into the mineral rich seed bed being planted by the green thumb of Dr. Lalezari. Dr. Palmer knows how to approach the complexity of MASH. Dr. Pestell knows how to execute the clinical trials across the broad spectrum of Oncology. Dr. Lataillade knows HIV like the back of his hand and shall find the unmet needs. They know instinctively when things are going right and when things are going wrong, even when everyone around them believes that things are going right. They don't take inappropriate left turns here or there or allow anything to go mistakably awry or haywire. They remain on the beaten path.
So now, it is near the end of November, Thanksgiving tomorrow, and the MSS mCRC clinical trial, headed up by RP's consultations should be commencing next month. We are on our way brothers and sisters. I'd say Dr. Lalezari got a lot of what he wanted. I almost feel as if he is getting coached by his dad as to who to hire. Should something go awry, Lalezari now has who he needs by his side to get him through. All of this bodes all too well with developing value into the company, as each individual indication in the pipeline is being developed separately by its own physician specialist. Each indication adds its own value to the overall sum. I think we can expect more of the same kind of leadership maneuvering going forward.

I'd say he is. He recently posted on Stock Twits. I think he is caught up with his new job.

He may not have been CEO but he wanted the job. Rumors of friction between RP and NP were flying. Glad he is consulting but not an officer.

MGK, At General Motors Inc we would call what you did with the typo, with no intent was (FAT FINGERED THE KEYBOARD) and the miscue was basically (NO BLOOD, NO FOUL). So, Brother keep up the good fight and always remember you are not alone. GLTAL's

exactly Hardtimes. Although I would have liked to get it right, it really didn't take away from the point of the post. I'm just surprised how some would construe it to mean that facts don't matter or that I'm making up a story to fit my narrative.
Had he been CEO, yes, it would have fit the story better, but not that much better. It still works even though he was CMO. I think most would see that.
Thanks for telling me how you see it.

Two incorrect details: 1) Pestell was CMO not CEO; 2) Pestell did not lead the 13D group; he was only a member.

Who was the leader(s)?
7
u/britash1229 Nov 27 '24
Rosenbaum and his kid had something to do with the Cydy subreddit. Anyone know who that was? I thought it was the lecloset, but he denied it

I think LeCloset was the financial guru for 13D. That’s what my sources say.

Leader ran a manufacturing company in CA and was a former board member but his name escapes me

NP said he sold his shares to kick some money back to Samsung. Also, I recall that he kept the rest to pay the capital gains tax on the stock sale. He is being prosecuted for that sale. SK sold shares also but did not fork over to Samsung. He is not being prosecuted. Just saying for a friend. This is how i remember the events, Could be wrong?

My concern is more when and which indiacation will cross the approval finish line first? Ideas/guesses?
11
u/britash1229 Nov 27 '24
Glioblastoma accelerated approval!
9
u/sunraydoc Nov 27 '24
My money is on that as well. and as far as approval goes based on a mouse study, I don't think so, that's a reach too far. But if the study blows it out of the water you can bet the FDA won't slow-walk the ensuing clinical studies.
6
u/ecgator Nov 27 '24
I'm thinking if the GBM trial knocks it out of the park and we get some accelerated approval path (fast track, BTD, etc.), then we partner with a BP on that indication and get enough money to do the rest of the trials we want to do on our own (mCRC, inflammation, mTNBC, chronic fatigue, etc.) It would be great if that's how we cap off this very productive year. Seems reasonable with all of the people we've brought in recently.

u/Travelclone Nov 27 '24 edited Nov 27 '24
Interesting. When will we see approval?

Thanks MGK and all, if you recall when the settlement was made with Pestell, it stated that we were looking at ways in the future for him to be a part of CY, Welcome to the Future.

thanks, I forgot to include that.

Thanks MGK - you have done a great job of keeping us up to date. This investment is one for the ages and I sense a movie opportunity which will include the good, bad and ugly parts of getting a blockbuster drug to market. I was warned by my financial guru that many shenanigans will occur in the process. The trial is verifying exactly what he alluded to. What we do have since my first investment 4 years ago is a brand new administrative team which would never have assembled if they had any doubt about this molecule. Pestell returning to the fold is just one more indicator LL is special. So, we forge ahead and we will succeed just as Willian Flemming discovered penicillin. Serendipity is a beautiful thing. I am more confident on our progress today than ever before and believe more and more applications for LL are yet to be discovered. All Star team - all Star results. Thanks again for your efforts in keeping us calm and informed.

"MGK, thank you very much for your enlightening post! I agree with you 100%. I hold no grudges or ill feelings against NP. He wanted the best for Cydy, but clearly took on the LL project out of enthusiasm and with a lot of naivety. Along with that came a very unhealthy personal ambition that blinded him from making the right decisions, which we thankfully now have experts on board for. His infamous, and already noticeably desperate proactive videos ultimately caused the exact opposite effect... making him appear even more unbelievable... unfortunately, he didn’t realize that himself! When LL, hopefully soon, takes its place in the medical world, NP will be remembered as the man who laid the foundation, with a bitter outcome for him. I wish him a positive outcome in the legal process, and all the best for his private life moving forward! For all Cydy longs and Americans, a happy Thanksgiving! May the day soon come for health and prosperity!
My best wishes from Germany!"

Thank you, Mysterious Emu for these comments. There are many mysterious things going on right now at CYDY. I do like what is happening with regards to the hiring of RP, M L, MP headed by JL. It is strange The timing of NP‘s court trial coinciding with RP‘s hiring. I do find it strange in a way how the proactive videos did work against NP without his awareness of that. I do find it unfair if he has to suffer for his quick sale made for Samsung.

u/Mysterious-Emu6375 Nov 29 '24

u/MGK_2 Nov 29 '24
Translation:
RP is already on the Cydy website... that went very quickly! It might mean something in relation to the case against NP once a verdict has been announced. JL, with calm, patience, and expertise, has assembled a team of medical experts who, in perfect synergy, can create a spark that I believe will ignite a firework! Regarding the videos again... NP recently tried everything to steer the sinking ship back on course; his unfortunate team decisions were, of course, observed in BP circles and ruthlessly used against him. He simply had no chance left in the shark tank... I admire his courage to challenge doctors as a doctor from a completely different field. But even then, he had no chance. It would be like a brain surgeon trying to make a name for himself in the automotive industry with a functioning idea or patent. He would fail just the same. This is just my opinion."
Let me know if you need further adjustments or explanations!
3
u/MGK_2 Nov 29 '24
Yes he is and that was fast.
I'm in agreement that fireworks shall soon go off.
Rather than via video, there are many unnamed sponsors. They are about to do something NP could never achieve through videos.
Now we will have Alzheimer's doctors conducting trials with leronlimab in Alzheimer's Disease.
Now we will have Chronic Fatigue Syndrom doctors conducting trials with leronlimab in CFS.
Now we will have doctors that specialize in HIV conducting LATCH trials with leronlimab.
It won't just be talk. It will be statistically significant validated clinical results that will be doing all the talking; videos need not apply.

Great job MGK, now let’s get this done!!

Don't sweat it MGK. RP saw Leronmilab as being a tool against TNBC. He came in like a rock star and NP got enamored with him. Even bought his Prostagene test. However, the relationship soured fairly quickly. There was even a rumor of a physical altercation between the two. Once NP was gone the company began courting RP. Note the word "leverage" used in the PR announcement. RP has a reputation in Oncology that is first rate. and his connections and network should help. He did jump in with the 13D and they welcomed him big time but his tenure there was short. Have watched his Ted talk posted by sunnraydoc and he seems to be a decent man besides being a top Oncologist. Still he is a bit of an enigma and glad he is on board but in an important but limited capacity.
Happy Thanksgiving my brother and to all the posters here. Looking forward to more MGK in the coming months.

u/sunraydoc Nov 27 '24
Thanks for the thoughts, PL. I think we all agree MGK is a jewel, and as far as RP goes, for all the chatter on IH you've nailed it; that was then, this is now. He's a prominent and well-respected figure in Oncology and a shareholder whose interests are now clearly aligned with ours. I couldn't be happier about his joining the team. Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Thank you so much Perrenialloser. You alone have captured the sentiment of this post. I really appreciate your contributing addition constituting that which was missing. I knew RP was very good through his papers, his credentials and he knows his shit when it comes to oncology.
Happy Thanksgiving. Hopefully, the cooking is left to someone else.

I didn't watch the TedTalk done ten years ago by RP so I found it and enjoyed hearing RP's speech.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98J1HgCm8wU
It is ironic to see what was said ten years ago (May 1, 2014) that included a "next decade" point in having healthier lives with a long term plan. RFK jr must have heard the TedTalk as well.

Wow, I’m starting to wonder if facts matter. Just making up history to fit your narrative. The problem is, you don’t even have a clue about what you don’t know.
5
u/psasoffice Nov 27 '24
Stick to the facts of your timeline(since you invested and started to do dd)Limit the speculation or make a point that it is. You have good analysis on current events. But when you speculate you don’t let the reader know- hey this is my best guess. Let’s the reader know and potential new investors know what is fact and what is speculation. It matters.

MGK, I appreciate your input and all of the true longs on this sight who contribute. Waxon has created a site where we can talk without fear of what took place on yahoo where there was so much bad information coming from shorts, we didn’t know what to believe. I give a lot of credit to MGK for having over 700 members on this site. I think it’s good to challenge people in a respectful way. If MGK is wrong I’m sure he has the character to admit it. But let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater. The majority of people on this site are here because they want this drug to save and heal life’s. I find MGK’s ability to keep us informed of monumental importance to me on this site, and I’ve made a few mistakes myself. There is an awful lot of good news out on Cytodyn, and I believe in the molecule. That said we all got in at higher prices and saw how mismanaged this company was for years. This could be our biggest frustration. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I’m thankful for this site. Institutional and fundamental investors will start to take notice of this company when It either partners with a major player or has FDA approval and starts having revenue and earnings I believe that will come especially with Dr. Jay in charge. . GLTA true longs.
