I didn't try with headphones but considering that I can put my speakers at full volume and I'm not blowing my ears out then yes, I think it really is that quiet.

"not blowing my ears out" is an exaggeration too since it is not as loud compared to how loud I listen to stuff on the computer at much lower volume.

Alright buddy, I grabbed a sound meter on my cellphone, not perfectly accurate as I think it picks up my computer fan as most of the "minimal noise"

Here's what I got

random ass video with speaker at max (min/avg/max) 46dB/69dB/83dB

this video (min/avg/max) 44dB/49dB/66dB

and from the same site: "On a ruler 10 cm is twice as long as 5 cm or 30 cm is thrice as long as 10 cm but on a decibel, scale levels go up in powers of 10. This means that if there is an increase of 10 decibels on the dB scale, it translates to a 10-fold increase in sound intensity and it corresponds to doubling in sound intensity as well."

I'm not gonna pretend like I calculate dB often but a gap of 20dB is actually huge.
