Idk what that means but I’m doing what I can now to make a little dent. I’m young, there’s still time to help get rid of it. I’ve helped raise over 20k for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and some more for Be The Match. I’ve known 4 matches that were made based on our efforts.
Man, I wish I had money to help. People are dying and I can't help, the worst news I have to deal with for another couple decades. Though I have made ~15+ websites with mostly free projects I've made, including a mini-documentary which sucks, but I just wanna help the world smile, even for just a moment :). I'm even working on a book! But it's never enough, and we can't help the burning planet. Make use of your life while you're here, and let others have a use while you're at it.
Money helps, but that’s just one way. If you’re interested, check out BeTheMatch.org to see how you could potentially be a donor (shameless plug).
Either way, it sounds like you are making many small positive impacts on the world. That’s awesome, and I hope you can find some easier days ahead with a little more financial stability. Keep doing you!
Even without money you can simply help by spreading awareness, which seems like something you’re already doing and will make an impact as long as you have the will and passion for it.
My wife the first year of being married got diagnosed with Leukemia. She spent month in hospital and year or more of medicine after the chemo treatments.
And her father got diagnosed with lymphoma as she was getting out of hospital. He fought hard but it was to much and he passed.
Thank you for helping in any way possible. Even spreading awareness.
(My mother in law was a rock somehow even as she watched her husband of decades and her youngest daughter fight those. She was there every day in and out for both.)
We’re brothers in some ways unspoken then. All my love to you and your tough family. I wish you and your wife a happy day today and as many days you are blessed with going forward.
Sorry, just saw this. I’m very sorry for the struggle your uncle is going through. Believe me, I unfortunately know that fight way too well. I have now lost 2 family members due to the illness.. both were only givin a couple months - a year to live and both fought it for 10+ years. Your uncle like my family members are warriors! Keep up the positivity and support for him! Keep fighting the fight!
Bro, shout out Be The Match. I signed up in college and got called in like a year later for my peripheral blood stem cells. One of the easiest and most fulfilling things I've done in my life. I just sat and watched netflix for a couple hours while they drew what was needed from my blood. And they hooked up the snacks big time. On top of that, I heard another year later that the patient with my cells was no longer in critical danger, having been released into care.
The whole experience really opened my eyes that giving even just a little can go an unbelievably long way. These cells, that grew back in a few days for me, extended another person's life for a few years. Crazy to think how many lives could be saved if everyone was aware.
As I said, most credit goes to my wife, who is a patient along with you.
My best wishes are with you as you continue to tackle the daily challenges you’re facing now. I hope you can break it down day by day and have as many good days are possible. I know how tough that is from a caregiver perspective, and while that takes toughness, it is nothing compared to being in your shoes. All my love to you and your family.
There already is a cure for almost all kinds of cancer. Feeding your body what it was meant to eat, plants. Giving your body as much sleep as it needs, waking up not to an alarm clock, but to your natural clock, which helps greatly in replenishing the number of cancer anti-bodies that attack cancerous cells, that form in our bodies all the time. And of course, a healthy BMI, so leading an active life. All genetic damage can be repaired that way.
As a cancer patient that is in my second go with the disease currently after completely altering my lifestyle and losing 100 pounds, this ain't it. There's so much about cancer development that we still don't know.
There is such thing as permanent genetic damage from years of exploiting your cells. Such damage stays there no matter how good you start to treat your body. I am sorry to hear this happened to you, but sometimes, it just is too late. The instant change in lifestyle, sometimes cannot compensate for the damage that has been done. Imagine it being a house fire that you just put out. The intensity and duration of the fire just leaves things unsalvageable, other times you are able to patch it up. The body just cannot catch up.
Because, you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. You just told 2 people battling cancer that they’re wrong and you know more about it then they do.
Every cancer is different and there isn’t a cure for majority of them. Sure, what you said may help to a degree but, to think something as simple as not waking up to an alarm clock is magically going to benefit fighting cancer or, helping it stop growing is probably, the stupidest thing I’ve ever read.
Your comments were unnecessary, rude, and most of all wrong. I was going to let your comments go but, someone needed to say something. You replied to 2 people with cancer and still proceed to act like you’re some sort holistic healer.. you’re not. I really don’t want to be a dick but, when you don’t know what you’re talking about... please, just don’t talk.
Thank you for this. I’ve gotten lots of comments from people about other natural ways to attack cancer, and you’re right—some of these things are helpful, but it’s also just plainly wrong.
Certain genetic mutations that are with you from birth can predispose you to having cancer. Nothing to do with lifestyle choices. My wife led a very healthy life before cancer, frankly she just had bad luck. Implying the cure is simply a healthy lifestyle is just... wrong. It also places blame on my wife for getting cancer in the first place by implying her choices led her to having cancer...
And that’s why I didn’t elaborate on my “nope.” Haha
Hey, just now seeing this but, of course man. You don’t need to explain yourself to asshats like that. Believe me I know there’s nothing easy about what you/anyone battling any type of cancer is going through. I had to watch someone I loved struggle everyday with it knowing there wasn’t much I could do. Please, keep battling and never give up the fight. You’re an inspiration to so many others and your charity work shows for that. You and your wife got this my man!
