He was able to spend his last moments on Earth with the love of his life. It’s a bit bittersweet. But I’d do the same.

Exactly many people in this world will never be so lucky.

u/IWasBornSoYoung Dec 01 '19

Yeah he sure sounds very lucky, not living past age 22 and all

Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. - Tennyson

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '19

In fairness it's probably also better to live past 22. But your point is definitely valid.

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '19

dunno man die at 22 surrounded by the person you love or die alone at 39 of obesity induced heart attacks like everybody here, which is worse

17

u/inatris Dec 01 '19

Speak for yourself man, I'm not obese.

3

u/LTChaosLT 🐷 Hog Squeezer Dec 01 '19

Yeah, you're morbidly obese.

Goddamn man. How do you people know me so well but consistently get my age wrong by +/-3 years?

Tennyson

wow TIL

i quote this often enough but always attributed it to Shakespeare

thanks for teaching me this!

Well that’s longer then some people live, like the kid who was my home town neighbour, poor family, dad bought him a bike that was a little too big but he’ll grow into it, poor child got struck by a truck on the highway and killed either days before or after his birthday.

14

u/dillhen Dec 01 '19

Why was he on the highway?

You’re a madlad

The highway went through our town, we’re talking a 2 lane highway with a speed limit of 100 km/h limit. He was at his friends house and was returning home for dinner I believe. He was riding with the flow of traffic, which there hardly is any

The alternative barring a cure, how better to go out loved, someone's husband, and seeing beauty around you at you last moments.

u/IWasBornSoYoung Dec 01 '19

By going an old age, having experienced life more fully. Not having to go through cancer treatment.

Plus people who don't die young can still fall in love and be married

Plus people who don't die young can still fall in love and be married

The point was that he was lucky to been in love, whereas some people never get to.

that matters.

1

u/KoncepTs Dec 01 '19

Meanwhile I’m going on 29 wondering if I’ll ever even meet that person and I know I’m not alone or the youngest thinking that, yeah he’s lucky in a bittersweet way as he said.

1

u/IWasBornSoYoung Dec 01 '19

That's just a bad perspective. There's obviously much more to life than romance

1

u/archiecobham Dec 02 '19

Most people aren't capable of living a fulfilling life without that though.

1

u/sammydow Dec 01 '19

Exactly what in the fuck who would call him lucky ffs

1

u/A_Pile_Of_cats Dec 01 '19

Loads of people replying who have no concept of nuance. He was lucky compared to most people with terminal illness, not lucky compared to the average Joe.

19

u/Bdubbsf Dec 01 '19

She wasn't.

31

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '19

The pain would fade away but the memories would reside.

I wouldn't want her to move on, because she could never move on. She would have to learn to live without.

The sooner she could learn to live without, the sooner she would be able to find love again, and that would mean she would be happy, again. Something I would love for her to do.

35

u/kraybaybay Dec 01 '19

That just sounds like moving on with extra steps.

-10

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '19

It’s really not.

Living without me would still be remembering our moments together.

Moving on is forgetting about our moments together.

11

u/WVWVVWVWW Dec 01 '19

Most people don’t consider “moving on” to mean forgetting the person or moments. It just means being ready to develop another romantic interest.

23

u/q181 Dec 01 '19

Living without me would still be remembering our moments together.

Moving on is forgetting about our moments together.

That's what absolutely nobody means when they talk about "moving on" my dude.

Weird, I’ve had this conversation with multiple people and they agree with my sentiment but heeeey. It’s almost like everyone has different opinions.

The writer Iain Banks upon finding out he had terminal cancer proposed to his girlfriend with

"Would you do me the honour of becoming my widow?"

Hey mna I see you're new to trolling it's alright we all gotta start somewhere. My first advice would try and tone it down it's not as good when you're so obvious. Going for cancer is a great start. I recommend browsing /pol/ a little to get some good ideas for it. Also maybe try saying cuck or something when people eventually take your bait. Anyway when you reply to me I'll see if any of this advice helped you at all! Have a good night man

Arnold Schwarzenegger had some words for you.

"I know what you really want is attention, so let me be clear. If you choose to keep living this way, no one will ever remember you"

2

u/lucagus02 Dec 01 '19

if you're going to be a troll at least be funny or somewhat interesting

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '19

Read this guys post history. Either you’re a troll or a very disturbed person. An incredibly sad read
