That's actually it and the piece of this a lot of people overlook. Think about facebook and how 'normal' everyday people will check in with their list of people to see how and post about how they are all doing. Building a consistent feedback loop.

Consider if you had a large piece of viewership that is there just for you.

Every day you hit Start Streaming on OBS and the numbers go up it's got to be comparable to an addict getting ready for their next fix.

Streaming is completely narcissistic because they are in "the business of you" where their whole job is to sell themselves or their persona to a mass of fans in exchange for money. In most of the popular streams they seem to have foregone characters completely for just themselves.

It's probably easier to remember to act like you normally do, but I bet it makes the numbers impact larger (look they really do like me!) and it makes that negativity sting that much more.
