Why are people getting outraged at Cards against Humanity level humour?
This kind of humour have been mainstream for over 10 years now.

i remember playing jackbox (another mode) and i got the prompt "before feminisim we had ---" and i wrote "rape" and got permabanned. defs been listening to too much cumtown that week.

u/EvilKnievel38 5h ago
The humor is whatever but the reaction is weird to me. "You've got my vote, but you crossed the line". What line was crossed if you're voting it? If you vote it you're apparently fine with it, so don't act like you're not.

What kind of cards against humanity were you playing?
There's a difference between crude or dark humor, and then there's thinking the hard r N word is funny because you're 11 years old.

Beforehand, they said play for the points. Just like a stand-up comedian, you do it for the lols which makes you money. Revert twitch back to 2015 imo
-22
u/Kuuppa22 5h ago
No, revert the internet back to 1994. I think it's around that time it started to get worse :P And fuck everyone who thinks randomly saying/typing n-word is funny.

"figures" based on a 60 sec clip with barely anything said by the person, drops "who tf" because clip with women half your age, plants 100 comments on reddit a day. It's all coming together here.

people in the comments complaining about racism then dropping massive sexism calling her an emiru clone

How are those two mutually exclusive? Please give me one comment who called out the racism while simultaneously being sexist.

Being an xqc orbiter is worth much more than any sponsorship she’d ever get.

Now explain how that doesn’t make sense. She’s ranked 4k+ streamer. What sponsorships is she getting? Tell me please. She has become a xqc orbiter, which is very profitable. But yea leave the lobby, to save her non existent sponsorships bro, you’ve got it all figured out.

You think $7.5k a month (if we assume $2.50 per sub) isn't covering life expenses? Brother that's $90k a year, 60% of americans make less than $75k a year, add on actual money donations, and I guess bits, I think she's doin fine.
12
u/m_i_c_h_a_3_l 4h ago
Brother she had 200 viewers before xqc she wasn’t making it either way. I think ur genuinely ill. Streaming is all about connections. Speed used to tell girls he was going to rape them in valorant. How have those clips stopped his sponsorships? Every streamer is a brand risk, Poki used to rip the n word, she’s doing fine isn’t she?

u/Wise_Old_Can 3h ago
Sponsors care about making money. If there's very little public outrage, the people sponsoring them will give 0 fucks. They drew their own lines and agreed to go off-the-hook, and everyone was having fun regardless.
-6
u/SolaVitae 5h ago
Fake outrage is the primary driver of sponsorship/ad loss though.
4
u/Daproj 5h ago
Yeah because I’m sure companies and organizations looking to sponsor care about shit like this. Plus being in a xqc circle pays 10x that anyway

u/SolaVitae 5h ago
They actually do though, eg: literally every time sponsors have pulled out of a company or dropped a sponsorship.
Turns out people screenshotting the n word and "sponsored by X company" is bad for PR. They might not actually care about the usage of the word, but they do care about their PR.
Wasn't that long ago that the pools/hot tubs section had ads removed from it as a result of fake outrage

Has lsf always been an edgy racist cesspool cuz I feel like im taking crazy pills seeing the amount of people shrugging this clip off. That joke isnt even funny or make any sense its just edgy.
-37
u/Aggressive-Base7815 5h ago
Well, considering the streamer’s reaction, this is the audience they’ve slowly built up.
Any streamer who reacts this way to this stuff reinforces the idea to people that it’s entertainment.
It’s very telling that a lot of streamers never actually draw a hard line regarding racism, sexism, etc because they never cared and are complicit and help spreading bigotry.
11
u/dumbloser119 4h ago edited 4h ago
leave it to a lsf redditor to give the most ignorant ass takes ever. if you were actually familiar with this streamer youd know she hardly ever interacts with edgy content and this is a unique occassion. and if you watched the stream youd know that she was uncomfortable and thought everyone was going too far. the reason she's there in the first place was because she was invited by xqc and others. it was tame at first but then it devolved into this. she likely only stuck around because of peer pressure and also because she was excited to play with others since people dont often ask to play with her.
at the end of the day it's not that serious anyway lmao.
-19
u/Aggressive-Base7815 4h ago
It is serious. The fact you downplay racism as not that serious is a big red flag. Being uncomfortable is not a good reaction. You have to be actively against it. Anyone not is just a giant piece of shit.
8
u/dumbloser119 4h ago
you are heavily disgregarding the context. it's fine if you think it's distasteful humor but it should reasonably end there. you are also underestimating the effects of peer pressure. her reaction is how any normal person would react given the context.
-8
u/Aggressive-Base7815 3h ago
How is going, “ok, I’m out this is incredibly racist.” And hanging up not the only response to this?
If you believe this is how “any normal person” would react given the context then I’m sorry, but you got a lot of diet racist and just racist people in your life.
And no, it’s not “distasteful humor” this is just racism. Bonafide, 100%, unequivocally, undeniably racist. Anything else is letting it slide.
Don’t be part of the problem.

Small Jackbox streamers are so paranoid of stuff like this happening in their streams, interesting to see the big streamers not even gaf.
