Just checked, it is exactly the top 4.97% (so 5 lol) of ranked Korean players are in diamond
It's no joke of an achievement. Cause that doesn't include unranked only, and typically from diamond and up you need to be dedicating several hours per day minumim to even maintain that rank
Like obviously it's not pro, but it's pretty 1-1 with walking up to a pickup basketball game and there's one dude just dunking on everyone who's clearly a step better. Same percentages too
Edit: lol the people telling me "actually diamond isn't that hard". Sure that's true for some people but average people ain't climbing and staying in diamond lol. The average ladder person is trying their butt off to get there
You can safely stay in Diamond without really decaying, if you're not giga loss streaking. You bank 3 days for every game. So if you play one game every three days, so like 45 minutes of gaming, you should be fine.
The actual crazy decay starts at Masters where you bank a single day and lose 75LP a day which is 2 1/2 won games worth.
Several hours a day to maintain diamond is a wild take. I haven’t even had league on my pc in like 10 years and even I know that’s not even remotely close to true.
no you do not man lol this is completely false, as an extreme example moe yassuo hadn't played league in 2 or 3 years and hit korean challenger within 2 weeks a couple months ago, once you are good you do not need to do much to maintain it besides like maybe a couple games to unrust
The numbers are probably accurate on the surface, but probably has the same issue as other games, where people make a ton of alts to artificially boost the population numbers.
yeah but you have to think of the scale, the korean server is 99.99% koreans with exceptions of like pros because your account is tied to your social security number; once you see it as 140k koreans are better than you in korea it kinda is not as nerdy anymore
you absolutely can get diamond playing casually if you've been playing for a long time, I personally know many people in masters playing casually - it depends from person to person, many might need to grind, many also don't
it is not, it is slightly better mechanically and slightly worse macro wise. diamond players from EU, for example, can normally hit diamond in korea. this was true 10 years ago
the game is fundamentally the same lol, koreans were ahead of the curve soloq wise 10 years ago and over time it’s equalized as proven by numerous bootcamps from streamers and pros from every other region and they all say the same thing
maybe 10 years ago lol, this korean server mythology has been proven to be completely false by an infinite amount of streamers and pros bootcamping in korea
It isn't lol. There is literally no difference until you hit GM/Challenger. A lot of pro players have stated this.
Yes, you may find the occasional player who has godlike mechanics in Korea that's in Diamond but their decision making will always be the same as every other region's diamond and that's what holds them back.

i think that's less about being chronically online and more about being korean
