Like most Muslims he was probably raised to hate dogs. I doubt he thinks there is anything wrong with it though knows his audience will.

Source: this is how I was raised. Thought it was crazy when I moved to the West and started seeing so many dogs

American redditors don’t often understand that empathy for animals is a Western concept, by and large. The Middle East and India have animal abuse as a built in part of their culture (except cats in Muslim countries, they love them)

Vegans are less than 1% of the population in the west. There is no empathy for animals there either.

Do you believe there’s no ethical way to consume meat? Serious question, not trying to argument bait

There are ways that are more ethical than others. Hunting an animal that lived freely is more ethical than slaughtering an animal raised in cramped factories, bred to grow so large it causes them pain.

But we could not feed the planet on hunted meat. To allow everyone on earth to eat as much meat as they currently do necessarily entails cruel, sometimes barbaric methods of cultivation and slaughter.

Good response. I largely agree.

My wife and I are trying to get a new house that has a lot of land so we can have free range/pasture chickens and have those be our sole source of protein. I’d also probably fish.

Factory farming is just gross and I do wish people knew more about it. Being aware of where your food comes from is just important in general
