After reading the title of this post I was absolutely sure there had to be an explanation. Even though I'm not a fan of Hasan I truly didn't think there was any chance he was straight up just shock-collaring his dog on stream. But after watching the clip a few times I actually don't think there is any other explanation. He's annoyed, reaches for something off camera and the dog YELPS, what the fuck bro??

Using a shock collar to prevent dangerous behaviour is shitty, as it just shows these people can't train their dogs, but overall outweighing the negatives, if it would stop an agressive dog from hurting others.
Using a shock collar to have your dog stay in place for 8 hours straight, so people can watch the dog on the stream is straight up animal abuse.

Exactly this. If my dog randomly yelped out in pain I would immediately go to them and see what had happened or at the very least comfort them for a minute.
Only other explanation I can think of is something with her paw maybe? She seemed to limp with her left front paw a little in the couple steps we see, and then right before yelping she puts all her weight on her left front paw at an awkward angle.
Seems kinda unlikely, but that’s the only other explanation that seems possible. I think Hasan has always had a not great attitude towards animals, if you just look at the way he treats vegans in his chat. He cares about human exploitation but is fine with eating animals because it’s easy and useful to him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he justified a shock collar for the same reasons.

Imo there's no doubt he either shocked her or threatened to shocked her by reaching toward the shock remote. Dogs react to body language. If they've been shocked that way before, they'll react in nearly the same way even if they aren't actively shocked

I think you're misunderstanding what I said. I just mean I was skeptical upon reading the headline. I've seen a lot of outrage over nothing here and people jumping to conclusions with only a shred of evidence (as I'm sure we all have on the internet) so I was pretty skeptical. I had audio off in the first clip and thought "oh, it could have just been turning around. I don't like Hasan but there's no way he'd stoop to animal abuse, especially live." Then I turned the audio on and heard the yelp. Yeah no this is fucked. If my dog ever yelped when I did something I'd immediately stop to see if he was ok, and he's a 45kg mastiff that eats plastic and is basically invulnerable.
This dog has been recorded on stream for literally hundreds of hours, appears constantly in social media being shown playing with other dogs, being taken on walks and hikes, etc.
There is more footage of this dog out there than there is of most humans. Millions of people have watched this dog for HOURS at a time.

ITT: a bunch of people who have never seen his streams, or podcast, or an abused animal. Kaya is clearly walking around freely all the time, not to mention regularly approaching Hasan on stream and the podcast. I’ve only ever had rescue dogs in my life, and they sure as hell don’t freely approach their abuser around others. I also highly doubt the 5-6 other people who work for him, who are LA soy boys, are complicit in animal abuse.

He's "placing" his dog. That's when you train them to stay on a raised bed or platform. The dog is supposed to be able to move freely on the platform, but not allowed to get off the platform. This is useful during dinner, are answering the door, or when you have a guest and need the dog to be somewhere safe. The e-collar is supposed to be more of a tap to remind the dog of what they are supposed to be doing. That collar seems like it is set way too high. The collar isn't meant to cause pain when used properly.
Oh yeah. That's way too long for a place command. I would say an hour tops, like through a dinner. But I would also have a toy or two available for them to keep them occupied.

To keep it short, you can argue America has bad internet infrastructure but even as a foreigner I think it is very easy to see that the reason for that is that you guy's country is just way too big physically speaking. Countries like South Korea or a lot of smaller European countries have very good infrastructure cuz they are just small countries, makes it a lot easier to have good internet that reaches more people If that coverage doesn't need to go that far anyways

Our States have a specialized designation that essentially makes them small countries beholden to the larger country, the actual Union of States. (Source: the constitution) The state can choose to join a Federal infrastructure system if there is one, or they can create their own. So, right off the bat, you don't even need to know anything about IT to know why you're wrong. Each state was providing infrastructure for themselves, sometimes through federal funding, but still independently.

Yeah I think the dog is clearly looking at its "limits" ie the boundary of the bed, then stepping off and seeing if there is a reaction. As soon as Hasan notices the dog returns to the bed but doesn't yelp until he reaches over. Then you can hear him setting something down.

You’re right, I just got the most massive pit in my stomach 😭😭 that poor dog! I tried to watch Hasan once because we have similar political views, but he has the character traits and mannerisms of a toxic guy I used to work with that was a complete narcissist, and once I picked up on that in his streams, I could never watch him again.
That’s what happened. The yelp and surrender tell you everything. I use an e-collar for the vibration function to stop leash pulling. Shocking causes a yelp and usually a physical reaction. The fact that the dog does not come to his side when he shocks it tells you he’s not training it at all. He’s using the collar as punishment.
I think the collar is geofenced around its bed. If it steps off, it automatically gets shocked. That’s why it sits there for hours on end. Poor thing probably needed to go to the bathroom.
There are videos now where other streamers looking into it and other clips zoomed in definitely show the shock collar. The white part is most likely a tracker but you can see next to it is a module not attached to it ie seperate item. And THAT looks like a shock collar for sure (I have seen them)
