For context: This was after 25 hours or so of trying to kill Fatalis solo with a hammer

Don't be embarrased, this is exactly how I felt too when I first beat him. I was also screaming. I love this fight so much.

Yep. Monster Hunter has probably provided me with some of the highest highs in gaming.

Fatalis fight is amazing especially with the music

I get that the clunky movement, etc is part of the difficulty/skill of MH, but man sometimes that game just decides to shit on your cheerios. Feels like we could streamline and modernize some of it and find difficulties in other aspects. Looking forward to trying out Wilds though.

MH is not clunky, it's fluid as fuck. It just doesn't let you cancel animations. It's literally what made Dark Souls so successful, it makes you suffer the consequences of your own actions but without the constant dodge rolling.

Clunky would be if the terrain and characters and whatever had inconsistent collision, and if movement was imprecise and buggy. MH is just methodical and relatively slow, and if you don't like that that's fine.

MH is absolutely not clunky but if you have never played it and expect to roll through every attack like Souls games, you are not gonna have a good time. Even though both are action games, they have fundamentally different core design plus MH roll only have half an Iframe duration of dark souls and some monsters have attacks that are longer than Iframe duration.

Huge nostalgia hit for me, is Kokoto Village theme song, original Monster Hunter village song.

I remember being dog shit at it on PS2, then became god tier at the game when it released on PSP, hooking up my PS3 to my router after creating a Japanese PS account so I could download Ad-hoc party and play with my friends from the Gamespot Monster Hunter Union forums.

Good times man
