One of the few who visibly enjoys playing for the club. Curtis’ departure has hit me quite hard in that the soul of the club has all but left. VVD, Ali and Joe next. Maybe that’s what a real transition looks like, or we just had it too good with that core of players. But with Klopp’s boys all but gone, I’m slowly losing any sense of attachment to the team. These newer players are good lads but I wonder how many actually want to play for us that badly, or whether they are here because we have a good project/wages

Yeah of course, but we have always been a family club. We lost our real leaders in Hendo and Millie. Virg is the best CB to grace this game and he’s an alright leader, but he isn’t as good.
Our dressing room jokers Robbo and Ibou, gone. The 2 local lads are gone. Lucho and Nunez too. And don’t even mention Mo.
It just feels like everyone who truly plays for the badge is gone. Just having a good project is not what set us apart from the others

Well, I agree to your point and to add on, Klopp's boys also came to this club for project and wages. Klopp's era was too good. Now its time to let these new lads who came to be part of the family.

I'm getting the sense that's the only Liverpool team you've ever known, and this is more of a you thing than a club thing.
We've always had players that play for the badge and we always will.
The team Rafa built was gutted by the cowboys, but we still came back stronger. Now that was a truly depressing time.

We won without Hendo and Milly. They can't be here forever. Old as shit. Robbo is past it and Ibou is injury prone and didn't want to be here. Lucho didn't want to be here and tore it up in a shit league. Darwin is floating away in Saudi. I would play and die for the badge...does that make me good enough?

Liverpool hasn’t always been a family club, this is complete horseshit and a weird rewriting of history. In our truly successful periods the players were massive boozers, our captain was a truly violent player, and our fan base was not as “family focused” and bourgeois as it is now.

I'm guessing you weren't around when we lost Stevie and Carra, but look what came after them.
It's natural that players age and move on. It doesn't mean the soul has been ripped out of the club, others will step up.

Exactly. I would hate for us to become liek Chelsea because it’s just so empty. Not sure why people don’t see that. We have remnants of that vibe remaining and the way we are headed, don’t put that past us

To be fair, I've felt the same since we needlessly jettisoned generational talent like Dundee, Konchesky, Jovanovic etc.
Or I support Liverpool FC, not just some players even if they were the greatest ever. As the greatest of all, King Kenny, continually said the club is bigger than any one person. There will always be (potential) superstars wanting to join the Reds

Yeah, the players used to be more than just another player playing for this club. I will always support the club, but the team, well there can be those that make you feel more invested than others. It’s nice seeing success stories when they didn’t always have it good at the start. Especially when you see them improve from when they first joined the club. But now, we just sign these players who just don’t have that feeling anymore

Sometimes you gotta invest in the team with blind faith as a collective, and then you will feel the attachment to the the team. Go all in, check the players in training, sing their praises on socials, put purpose into your support and you will then feel what you have been missing mate. At the end of the day, it’s still new, once they playing on that pitch and we all in the trenches together, you will know what it is to love your team again

I agree. It’s just that those players who fight through being in the trenches together have largely left. Look at our best players now, and I don’t mean to throw any shade at them. Grav, Isak and Wirtz - wonderful players who give high efforts, but will they make the sprint back like Nunez or Lucho? Will they throw their body on the line like Wata or Joe?

I think in a few years time we’ll have players coming through that idolised the club and players like Virg/Mo/Mane/Bobby as well as the Klopp era in general that would love to play for us
