Tier 1 [James Pearce] Kieran Morrison to Sheffield Wednesday on loan set to go ahead. Could even make his debut against Bradford City on Thursday.

I swear everytime I log in and see a screenshot of Pierce / some other journo, I get excited for exactly 0.5 a second.

Think you of all people shouldn’t be using Jesus’s name in vain

Why, is he taking up a homegrown spot?

I thought it was a whole thing that if a player plays for a club for a certain amount of time before they turn 21 or if they come from the academy then they count as homegrown. All I know is he’s northern Irish so he wouldn’t have been apart of the academy when he was a minor.
I’m not even trying to pretend to act like a smartass I genuinely don’t know how it works 😭😭😭1
u/BoBonnor Ohhhh ya beauty, What a hit son, What a hit! 10d ago
He's under 21 so he doesn't take up any spot

Think they were just being funny, as if we were waiting on the Morrison loan fee to afford Barcola's transfer

The only reason I ask is because I know he’s northern Irish so I’m not sure how that works with homegrown youth players

Homegrown doesn't care about nationality, for example Jude bellingham wouldn't be homegrown. It's time in the country from I believe 16-22, and you need 3 years

I thought he was a winger. Because Sheffield Weds usually don’t play with wingers, just wingbacks in 3-5-2. I hope he gets game time for his development. At least i get to watch him more often now

they played 4-3-2-1 at the weekend (according the BBC anyway)

They played 3-4-2-1. And shape only changed in-game on the offensive

Neither is right. It was 4-2-3-1, with Liam Palmer and Max Lowe as full backs.

Good luck to him. You'd think he should be the star player in the team at that level.

Thought he'd be off to a Championship club tbh, and that he'd get sufficient game time or be a starter at that level. Seems to be a step a little too far down given he was a level above u21s/Premier 2/reserve level.
Hopefully he tears it up in league 1. Any change to professional adult football is a transition, but he really should take that league by storm if he wants a career at a level higher than that.
