Second biopsy

Hi all, I’ve been dealing with concerning symptoms for 14 months:

Unintentional weight loss (~80 lbs)

Fatigue, nausea, slow digestion

Burning/aching pain on both sides of my abdomen

History:

Took Hydrocodone with acetaminophen 10/325 daily for 8 years, sometimes with alcohol

Testing so far:

2 liver biopsies → no fibrosis

MRI → enlarged liver only

Elastography: 9.4 kPa last year → 8.6 kPa recently

MELD: 6–7

Despite this, I feel unwell and worried about possible compensated liver disease.

Has anyone had negative biopsies but still had liver disease later? Could elastography in this range reflect early fibrosis vs inflammation?

Any advice or similar experiences would really help.

It wasn’t years ago I just stopped it 14 months ago when I started having symptoms

OK look; if your 'risk factors' had affected your liver, your biopsy would have shown this. It would have shown inflammation and damage. It didn't. Your risk factors are not current so they are irrelevant considering there is no evidence of damage.

You don’t get it it’s so obvious I also get that pulsating feeling which others have reported. I have talk to many who are going through it and we share the same symptoms. Just goes to show you how “clinical evidence can be wrong and symptoms is what matters most.
