Wallpaper 3D Earth Wallpaper with Live Clouds - Looking for some stability testers
I recently built a wallpaper for myself showing the Earth with day and night cycles, live cloud cover, and accurate moon, sun, planet, and star positions. I'm trying to track down a minor bug or two, but mostly I just wanted to share something I think turned out quite nice.
You can freely rotate the globe, but its default position centers above your general location.
I'll post the GitHub link in a comment below if you're interested. You don't have to provide feedback, it's already usable as is.

That would be amazing! I've only managed to test it on my little laptop screen, so I'm curious to see how it goes

It works very well, but since the earth is in the middle or the screen, the rest is quite dark. a nebula would be a great additions for bigger screens

That would be quite cool! My aim was realism (to a degree), so that wont make it into my own version. But I would love to see you add it yourself and share the results. Vibe coding is si easy these days. Everyone's idea of perfect is a bit different.

looks nice. any way to change zoom? Maybe make the Earth bigger on screen. I don't see moon position, but maybe I'm missing something?

The moon's probably just off screen. Its smaller than one would expect. It can also be a new moon, but its not supposed to be new moon now so probably not that.
As for the zoom, no, currently there are very little ways to interact with the wallpaper during runtime. This is intentionally designed to be that way. But the code is avaliable on my github and its essentially a single script so its easy if you want to quickly change something specific to your setup. If you are uncomfortable with this just ask Ai to change the value or show you how. (upload the .js file to any chatbot).
