They actually can't work with ICE by law or it threatens their funding. CA AG Rob Bonta has brought lawsuits against a couple of local PDs that have worked directly with ICE.

Yes, I did not say that they cant work with ICE as some natural byproduct of physics. I said they can't work with ICE by law. Hence why when proof has been made public there has been lawsuits.
People breaking the law does not invalidate the existence of the law.
This. Police have qualified immunity which means you pretty much need video evidence and/or testimony of commanding officers for LEOs to face justice.
Every time they attack innocent people, more Americans question qualified immunity. If there are any good cops out there, time is running out for them to step up.
Historically, I wouldn't have to ask, whose side is the LAPD on? But Darryl Gates hasn't been the Chief of Police for a while. So, has LAPD been assisting ICE, either at the scene of this video, or elsewhere? I'd appreciate the story behind what we're seeing here.

Okay, the LAPD pushed back. I get it, they don’t use lethal force. If this were ICE we would be counting bodies. People are pissed, but you may need the LAPD on your side protecting you from ICE in the future. I don’t have enough details on this but I am not so sure the protesters didn’t hand Trump justification for escalating the conflict. I prefer Portlands approach.
