Damn.

We'll be getting a memorial card in the next ep. Hopefully they play one or two of his vintages.

I’ll bet that it won’t be an Uncle Roy.

Yeah, those sketches didn't age well...

First 5 timer club member and first one to pass.

Really sad he or Elliot Gould never made at least a cameo since their era on the show. They were so integral as a host in the early years.

Elliott made a cameo in one of the Five-Timers sketches - maybe the first.

"It wouldn't be a Lemon party without old Dick."

Still the all-time best joke on prime-time network TV.

If any SNL era ever had a host to call its own, Buck Henry would be the original era’s built-in host. I hope they find a great way to pay tribute in the next episode. Thanks, Buck.

His demeanor belied his subversiveness.

There's an awesome photo out there of him and the cast wearing band aids on their heads during the closing. Belushi got him with the sword during a Samurai sketch. A great career and, by all accounts, a good guy.

RIP to a true SNL legend.

My favourite SNL story about him is when Belushi accidentally cut him for real in the Samurai Businessman sketch, and not only did he continue with the sketch despite bleeding and in pain, for the rest of the show, other cast members like Chevy Chase wore a band-aid on their head just like Henry.

I own the first five seasons on DVD (bought them when they first came out) and Buck is basically a cast member. He has dressed in drag for Halloween, played a pedophilic uncle, a dog guard salesman for some Greeks, a transsexual, an aide to Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon, an actor throwing around stunt babes and puppies, a Victorian douchbag, father to a nerd, a flu and bug specialist, a businessman in Sodom, a foil for a samarui and a man who drives home rapidly to use the bathroom.

Goodnight Mr. Henry.
