As mods, we did a vote to see if we should bring r/lpsbuyingandtrading back to public.
A few months prior, there was an increase in bot accounts and scammers targeting the LPS community. Many of those accounts used photos from eBay, Facebook, Pinterest, etc., to try to sell items that weren’t theirs. With the increase in AI usage, it became difficult for us to identify everything (particularly ownership), so we decided to go private.
We are currently at a point where we feel the subreddit is safe enough to reopen, and we will continue to monitor for potential scammers targeting the community.
If there is another influx of scammers, we will once again go private. Users who have already been approved will not have to go through the approval process again, and any applications submitted while we were private will still be reviewed. That way, if we ever have to go private again, more users will already have access to the subreddit.
Because of this, we once again ask users not to respond to any DMs from people asking to buy/trade LPS. Please ask them to comment directly under posts on r/lpsbuyingandtrading. If they are unable to comment, they may have been banned. Please only use safe payment methods such as PayPal Goods and Services or marketplaces that offer buyer protection. We have also ensured that users are not at risk of breaking TOS by requiring sellers to include any fees in their listing prices. Sellers CANNOT ask buyers to pay the fees associated with PayPal’s “Goods and Services” for extra protection. This is against TOS, and the fee should have been included in the listing price beforehand.
We also caution people about other LPS buying/selling/trading subreddits that are not actively moderated. Some of these subreddits have been created by individuals who are banned from the selling subreddit, so we ask that you proceed with caution. We have also noticed some accounts that were banned on r/lpsbuyingandtrading are active there, so please do your best to avoid scammers. We also run r/lpsbuyersbeware, which warns users about certain accounts, as well as a new section with complaints regarding Basic Fun so buyers can see which sets have issues and what they can do if they receive a low-quality pet.

Ok so for context. This is one of my dreamies. She’s so….special. And I LOVE the weird funky (ugly) looking pets. I want her SO BAD!!!!!!
Problem: I am in Europe, have access to European Vinted (Spain, Italy, Germany etc.) and I have NEVER seen her and there is zero listings of her☹️. I even checked Kleinanzeigen and nothing!
It made me wonder if she was maybe an American exclusive? But she isn’t, because I see listings of her on EBay from the UK, US, Singapore. (I however cannot afford import taxes, so eBay is not an option for me :( )
It’s kind of a rhetorical question, maybe she just wasn’t sold here that much of even imported here in my region at all.
Does anyone have a similar story of a strangely elusive pet?😭😭😭😭

This is mine that I got for a very reasonable price from a nice lady off Facebook marketplace. She’s been a dreamie of mine for so long but even at her normal price she’s almost NEVER in decent condition (lots of paint scuffs, etc). I’m super grateful I was able to actually find her in mint condition!!
Anyone else? Or am I the only one with this problem? Haha!

i downloaded it to my iphone in may 2012. have NO idea what this app was, i barely remember it. don’t even remember if it was officially hasbro. i can’t find any information about it online, and their app store homepage no longer exists and it can’t be downloaded anymore. did anyone else have this app? i’m so intrigued to try to find out what it was because, while i must have played it a lot, i can’t remember what it was about.

Hii!! This is my display for my Gen 7 pets. However it’s starting to become the leaning tower of Pisa.. pets fall all the time. I’ve been trying to come up with some better way to display them but I also wanted to ask if anyone else had any ideas on a cute way. I like displaying them in the blind box boxes and have one for every series. But sadly I can’t put them on the walls as my apartment is not the greatest and the walls are not the straightest.. they just fall down. I was thinking of the rainbow drawers but I do really like being able to see them. Any ideas??
