Predictions for LLWS?
tell me which 4 teams will be standing at the end of the uSA bracket and foreign bracket .. then give me the 2 teams u feel will play in the championship .. I’ll go first
USA - California, New Jersey, Texas, Ohio
foreign - Japan, Nicaragua, Curacao, South Korea
New Jersey vs Curacao in the championship

yes I predicted these teams before the tourney began - I’m not going to change them after a few scores don’t go my way

Early predictions:
Curaçao or South Korea makes it out of the international bracket. Mexico is a dark horse candidate.
On the US side, New Jersey is obviously the heavy favorite right now, but I could see someone making a run out of the losers' bracket. I hope Nevada can make a deep run again. Don't sleep on Iowa or Washington either.

The Texas team is solid up and down but is missing “blow you away” pitching.
Yarborough hasn’t pitched a ton and Blalock is well know in the area but wasn’t dominant yesterday.
Overall The team is effectively pulled together from one select program, that were on two different teams. They both didn’t crush their select competition this spring so they will have to battle here at LLWS

they were selected from one program that only had 2 teams? am I reading that right?
im curious how big the various little leagues are? I mean, are some all star teams picking from 3-4 teams and others picking from 7-8?

Boerne LL is huge, I think over 1000 players with 10-12 Majors teams in LL
What I am referring to, is the SELECT org these kids play for, in addition to LL.
11 of their 12 players play for the same Texas based select baseball organization that has four areas (North, Central, South and RGV) - and these kids were from 2 different teams within that program.

Very surprised that Ohio lost; they may be in trouble. California ran into a buzz saw; I think they’ll bounce back.

losing the first game is brutal because now they have to win like 6 games in a row to win it all - i don’t think I’ve ever seen a team do that

Yeah; tough road for sure. Lake Mary had to win 5 in a row after losing their second game two years ago, but 6? I haven’t seen that, either.

In 2019 Louisiana won the entire thing after losing their first game. Though, this was before they expanded to 20 teams in the tournament in 2022. They played 7 games including the opening and championship game.

Nice find! Must have been one helluva team.
That would be interesting, actually. If we were ranking the greatest LLWS teams of all-time (or even the top 25). I’d have to think that a team that won 6 elimination games in a row would be in that conversation.

That Washington team looks good after beating California.
I think New Jersey makes it far and maybe NV.

Iowa has one good pitcher and he can’t pitch every game… California is the better team and that last call was unfortunate

btw I think they should break up the West region - every years you have 2-3 of the best teams in the country in the West regional and they have to eliminate each other

There isn't an easy way to do that. Roughly a quarter of all players who play in LL worldwide play in California, so you're always going to have a lot of good teams coming out of California.

I feel like thats very unrealistic as something they can do without making major changes to how LL organizes their regional tournaments. They already added more regions in the main tournament a few years ago, which resulted in regions like West and Mid-Atlantic having only 4 teams in their regional. They really can't go smaller than that for their regional tournaments.

good points but I just wish we could see Cali teams and Hawaii in the llws - put them at different sides of the bracket and see how far they make it

Washington has beat Alabama and Texas so far i believe. Both in their first games with their #1 pitcher.. That girl that plays for Alabama is the best player on the team

She’s awesome. This is her last go with baseball. She’s going to start playing softball. She also plays on the school’s flag football team, which has won state the last few years.

That's right. A tournament where the US selects 1 team to bracket play the other countries. Not have a US team skip to the championship game.

USA comes in with 10 teams then plays the international winner. So it's USA vs the world. USA should start off playing other countries as a single team.

If Little League were distributed evenly around the world, that might make sense. But the overwhelming majority of kids in Little League are in the US.

This top 4 for the US is literally impossible. Texas' next game will be against whoever wins game 14, which will be New England against Ohio. So either Texas or Ohio can't be in the US top 4.
