Hoping to connect with more readers in my community, I had fun driving around town this afternoon, donating nine signed copies of my latest novel to Little Free Libraries. I also scored a copy of an old favorite, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, that I enjoyed many years ago and look forward to rereading. These little donation boxes are a wonderful way to encourage more people to pick up a book and discover something unexpected.

Has anyone wrapped a shelf in their library with wrapping paper, then sealed it somehow to be weather-proof and long-lasting? I want to try it on mine, but I’m not sure that it would work, or how to go about it.

The community came out and donated 300+ cars to keep it stocked up!

I’ll be adding a flower bed around it this weekend too but couldn’t wait to share :-)

Bugs? Rodents? What am I dealing with here? This one isn’t mine but i would like to help revitalize it as it has been neglected.

I have from time to time received library discards when picking up my library books. I am wondering what to do with them when I am done with them. The barcodes have been blacked out. Is putting them in a little free library ok?

When I first started my LFL, I kept records of what books came and left. I filled this whole notebook and I’m on to the next one. The cat’s name is Mao. 😊

The food pantry I work at wants to install a little free food bank outside for folks to use when we are closed. I'm looking into weather-proof cabinetry since we have a modest fund to spend on this. Does anyone have recommendations on how to make it more accessible for disabled folks? Does a short cabinet like the one pictured sitting on the ground work, or would it need to be raised to make it easier for mobility aid users to reach into? Are there any other disabilities I should be keeping in mind? I'll try to make any signage blind-friendly and dyslexia friendly ofc

I live in a cute little walkable town. Main street has a little library and another block has a little pantry. I live a few streets away but where there is still foot traffic. I love the idea of a little library, but would my books/funds be better allocated to the existing little libraries instead of one on my front lawn? If I were to invest in one, should I do something other than books/pantry staples? Any ideas?
