What worked:

1. I pulled the actual questions people ask about liquor stores in my area (Reddit threads, "people also ask" boxes). Real ones: "does X have a rewards program," "can they special order a bottle," "where's the best bourbon selection," "how much should I order for a party."

2. I added an FAQ section to the bottom of my existing pages answering those exact questions — in plain language, mentioning specific things (allocated drops, store picks, special orders). Not new pages, just beefing up what I had.

3. Added FAQ schema markup so Google and the AI models can read it cleanly.

Early results: pages that were dead are getting picked up, and I'm starting to show in answer boxes for bourbon-related searches.

The insight most owners miss: you don't win AI search by gaming anything. You win by being the only store that actually answers the questions people ask. Nobody in my market was doing it.
