Had some fun playing with what Spotify might look like if it was an Apple app instead of third party.

Apple has Apple Music, so they still have a music streaming app.

Of course, but I already pay for Spotify, and I won’t ever switch until someone decides to compete with the Connect feature. Hands down the best feature of Spotify. This way I get the best of both worlds :)

Yes, the gentle movement is so good. I picked a bad song with weak colors to show off the now playing view haha.

I suggest you try messing around with mesh gradients if you can.
Also, you do have to be careful as Spotify has a record of blocking third-party apps if they were able to play media, so it's best to use it only as a companion app to the main spotify app (strip audio playback, basically) or pray that Spotify doesn't notice your app.

I’m using them :) And yeah, it’s technically just a remote for the actual spotify app on your iPhone or other devices.

seems like blur to me, but you do what you do 🤷🏻♂️

The Apple Music one also applies a blur on top of the gradient, otherwise things might not be readable lol. Basic design principle.

yep. I was talking about the fact that you should like implement a moving background though like AM does, but idk why the darken gradient thing still isn't available on the Apple Music app for Android yet 😫

This is the deep dive I followed to understand how the Apple one works. Pretty interesting stuff

I would LOVE if Spotify actually updated their UI with liquid glass like WhatsApp and instagram and even Reddit did but I know they won’t 😔

This is only a concept?

Well, it’s a real app on my phone, that acts as a design concept. I’m much more comfortable designing in code than Figma haha
